When I was working in Birmingham a few weeks ago I went for a wander around the shops in my lunch break. To my delight I found Zara and Monki within a stone’s throw of one another. To be honest, I thought Zara was a bit disappointing; it wasn’t as well stocked as I’d hoped, although I did buy some pink satin jogger-style trousers. Then I popped in to Monki just for a browse and found this gorgeous floral print collar blouse on the sale rail reduced to £14. You know how much I love a retro floral print, so I immediately bought it. I tried a few other things on ( I was very tempted by a green and white shirt dress) but I wasn’t sure I would wear them regularly so I didn’t buy them.
As this blouse is lightweight and a tiny bit stretchy I knew I would want to wear it over and over. Plus, the retro floral print works with many other pieces in my wardrobe. Today, I’ve paired the blouse with yellow trousers because that’s the base colour of the print, but I could have gone with pink, orange, mint or white. Well, probably not white because I hardly ever wear it, but I have trousers in the other colours. It would also look great with wide leg jeans for a more casual outfit.
I would say the sizing of this blouse is generous as I’m wearing a small. Since I bought it, the price has been reduced further to £9, which is a brilliant bargain. It’s also available in a dark colourway of black, green and white, also reduced to £9 (although it’s showing as full price in the widget). For accessories, I’ve added an orange crossbody that I bought at a local boutique and some fun, colourful jewellery in complimentary shades.
