How’s your week going so far? It seems hard to believe we’re almost at the end of the first week in July! It was Isobel’s 13th birthday on Sunday…we have a teenager in the house! On Saturday she a had a friend over for a sleepover, then on Sunday we went for lunch joined by another of her friends. It was a busy weekend because on Saturday Isobel had a Rose Queen event to attend. I’m getting to know the towns and villages of Cheshire quite well with all the fetes and galas we’re invited to.
This week I started a new freelance job on a daytime TV programme. It’s incredibly busy and I’m having to learn quickly…as well as get up at 3.30am! I am not a morning person at all so it’s been a huge shock to the system. By Friday I’ll need a holiday! I can’t get to sleep early so I have to make up for it by sleeping for a couple of hours in the afternoon, which means I’m pretty useless from midday onwards. But I keep telling myself that pushing out of your comfort zone is the only way to progress and grow. Even before this week, work was very busy; I’ve just finished a period of cover with a different team doing things I wouldn’t normally. All of this has meant that I’ve had next to no time for the blog, Instagram and TikTok. But next week I have a few days off so will be catching up with it then.
You’ve probably seen this outfit before; it’s a summer favourite of mine. Scotch & Soda is one of my favourite brands and this tropical print co-ord comes with me on most holidays. I featured it two years ago styled it an almost identical way. An outfit like this is such an easy option for when I want to look like I’ve made an effort but I’m short on time. Gold jewellery, co-ordinating headband and a bag in a colour picked out from the print is all it needs.
I’m keeping it short and sweet this week as I really need my sleep! I wanted to stick to my link up schedule but have to make some short cuts. Apologies for not featuring the usual three favourites – normal service will be resumed next week!

Oh my goodness, a 3:30 a.m. wakeup does not sound like fun. The job sounds fantastic though—hope you adapt quickly!

Congratulations on your new job! Waking up at 3:30am does not sound fun at all, but I’m sure it will be well worth it for the experience. Your set is so bright and pretty for summer!
I hope you are having a great week so far!

Tropical co-ords look stunning against the kniphofias, and love the pineapple bag! I remember having early starts but never as bad as 3.30am!
Very pretty set, Emma. Love your accessories, they highlight the colours of the clothes and bring a lot of different interesting points. The bag is divine

What a great outfit, Emma! I love this fun print and your adorable pineapple bag! Congratulations on the new freelance job. Menopause wakes me up every morning around 3:30 (today it was 1:30) so I am generally useless by mid-afternoon on a regular basis so I totally relate to early morning wake ups making for very long days when you have to coincide with the rest of the world. I hope your body adjusts to the new schedule soon!
