How was your weekend? The weather here was terrible…again! We’ve all had colds for the first time since the pandemic, which goes to prove that those pesky germs can still get you even with wearing a face covering in public. Yesterday I went back to the hospital to collect my orthotic insoles – I’m hoping they make enough of a difference to avoid bunion surgery…oh the glamour!
To top things off I got trapped inside my own car on Sunday! When I returned to my car after work I noticed the door hadn’t been shut, which I thought was odd. Then, as I went to drive off I realised that it wouldn’t shut at all. I managed to pull it shut and lock it, but then it wouldn’t unlock! After texting Pete from the driveway, he came out and got the passenger door open, but it immediately relocks so I have to be quick to open the door. Getting in and out of the passenger side isn’t exactly elegant! Anyway, enough of my car and bunion woes and onto my outfit.
This is what I wore when we went out for lunch to celebrate our anniversary. I was hoping to get some photos close to the pub in the countryside setting but it was too wet and windy. It stopped raining briefly later on after we got home so I managed to get a few snaps. I ordered these trousers with a matching jacket (you know I love a trouser suit!) but the jacket is massive. Although it’s obviously intended to be an oversized fit, the medium could almost accommodate two people! As it sold out really quickly I don’t have the option of exchanging it for a small. However, I think I actually prefer these floral print wide leg trousers with the solid pink jacket instead of the matching one.
The different colours in the print give me several styling options…I may do a “4 ways to wear” TikTok like I did with the Zara floral print trousers. Nothing else in the outfit is new, well the ankle boots are new to me but I bought them on eBay a few weeks ago. It’s almost summer and I’m still in boots…I feel like I painted my toenails for nothing! I hope June and July make up for an awful May!

Well, how cool is that outfit, Emma? You look spectacular in this bright pink combo. Love the patterned trousers! Thanks so much for the link party!
Emma,
It sounds like you had a weekend full of unexpected challenges. Some times you get a better outcome when your plans don’t go exactly as expected. Your pants with that jacket looks like a great match. Maybe you can take the same approach with the floral blazer and pair it up in a non-matchy ensemble. Anyway, I hope the rest of your week goes more smoothly.

Oh what a week, I can see you climbing over the seats, I’ve done that before when someone parked too close to my drivers side! Sorry to hear about your feet, hope the insoles work for you. Great happy outfit though and thanks for hosting. Jacqui x

Emma, thanks so much for the feature! What a lovely surprise! These trousers are amazing. I love the print and the colors and I really want to see the matching blazer now! I hope you can find a way to style it even though it is too big. Those boots and bag are so fabulous, too. And what a freaky thing to get locked inside your car! It reminds me of that old 80’s Stephen King horror movie, Christine. I am glad you got out and the car didn’t try to take your life like in the movie!
