It was Anna’s turn to choose a theme for May’s Style Not Age and she sent us the title “Frilled to Bits”…and actually I was! You probably know by now how much I love frills, ruffles and anything flamboyant, so this was right up my street. It also gave my the opportunity to wear one of the tops I bought at my favourite shop in Funchal last month. I couldn’t resist buying it in black too, plus a similar top in green (minus the pearls). Remember the Thrifty Six post entitled We Are Not Angry Birds? That rather ostentatious pink pearl embellished blouse is also from the same shop. As Isobel would say, it’s a vibe!
I featured these trousers on the blog in early April, but that was before I bought the matching jacket. I’d already bought the suit in the orange and purple colourway – I loved it so much I bought this version too! Both were in the sale and there was a bonus 3 for the price of two offer, so it was too good to resist. My Fenella Smith vegan leather bag picks up on the darker green in the check print and is the ideal size for a work bag. A trouser suit and trainers is my go-to work uniform these days; it’s an easy and comfortable combination while still looking put together.
I have another suit from Monki in the same style but in a floral print, which I also wear a lot. I was convinced I’d featured it on the blog but upon searching it seems I’ve worn the trousers but with a solid pink jacket. I’m sure you’ll be seeing the suit here very soon!
The earrings compliment the pearl embellishment on the top really well but they keep falling out! By the end of the day I’d given up trying to keep them in. (You can probably see in the photos that they’re hanging on for dear life!) I had my ears pierced when I was eight and the holes are now too low on the lobe. I’m considering getting them re-pierced higher up. I love big earrings but have lots that I can’t wear. The things we do for fashion!

Anna is wearing a fabulous homemade petticoat along with a vintage blouse and skirt, plus stunning new cowboy boots from ASOS. I’m full of admiration at Anna’s sewing skills!! You can find all the details at Anna’s Island Style.
Gail has combined a blouse from eBay with cropped trousers from Roman and sandals from Asos. A bag from Cambridge Satchel Co. completes the look. Head to Is This Mutton? to catch up with Gail.
Hilda chose a Whistles dress which JD Richards sent her for contributing to the Good Housekeeping article. You can read all about it at Over the Hilda.
Jacqui is wearing a recent addition from Izabel Clothing. It’s a wrap dress with frills all down the front and round the hem. Jacqui completed the look with fab green lace up shoes and a new bag from Dune that she got for her birthday. Pop over to Mummabstylish for all the details.

Great bright and cheery outfit. Love that pink too. Have a super week Emma. Jacqui xx
I love your outfit a lot, Emma. The top is very pretty, the pearls add a sense of elegance to it and the pattern and colours of the suit are magnificent. Anna

Oh, my goodness, Emma! That top is fabulous and works so well with your trousers! You just look so good in that color!
I want to get a third hole in one of my ears, but I hear the farther up the ear you go, the more it hurts! So, we shall see!

Both suits look so fabulous on you, they are wonderful! I know about earrings, so annoying isn’t it. I almost can’t wear mine too. Have a fantastic sunny day!
Love the pink and green together!
