It’s the last Monday of the month (already!) which means it’s time for another Style Not Age challenge. It was Hilda’s turn to set the prompt for November and she chose “Inspired By Autumn”. When I think of autumn (or fall) colours, deep oranges, reds, greens and browns come to mind. Unusually for me I didn’t choose an orange based outfit. Instead I opted for rich burgundy with this velvet jacket, hat and bag. The check trousers also have a very thin stripe of deep red running through the print. They were such a bargain from a Marks and Spencer outlet several years ago – only £7! They’re such good quality too.
The retro mushroom print top is in keeping with the autumnal theme – my garden is full of them at the moment. I wish I knew which ones are safe to eat, but I’m not going to risk it! Now it’s turning cold I’ll be getting my faux fur coats out – that’s one of my favourite things about winter! I can imagine wearing one perched nonchalantly on my shoulders like the fashionistas at fashion week. I also have a cape that would look great over this outfit.

Emma, you are simply stunning in this color! I love the velvet blazer with the mushroom top, too! And, the trousers work so wonderfully pulling it all together! I love autumnal colors because they tend to be deeper colors.
Have a fabulous week!
