Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I spent most of it watching/listening to various acts performing at Glastonbury. Queens of the Stone Age were brilliant last night (sorry Elton, but rock and punk music is more my thing!). Anyway, on to this month’s Style Not Age theme, which is…June Jumpsuits. Hilda chose the prompt, which proved to be a popular one with the group.
I love jumpsuits, despite the bathroom contortions they often require. Most of mine are stretchy pull on numbers, but this one is a little more challenging. However, I’d never let a challenge like an awkward zip put me off an outfit I love! I stumbled across this pink frill jumpsuit while browsing the Zara sale; it wasn’t what I was looking for but when I saw it I was intrigued. For a good half an hour I hesitated, wondering if it would look awful on me and if I’d actually wear it. But then I thought I’d take a risk and buy it because I could return it if I didn’t like it. Well, to my delight, I absolutely love it!
The fabric is slightly stretchy, which helps to get it on. I didn’t like the belt tied at the front because I think there’s enough going on with the frills. Instead, I tied it in a bow at the back, which looks better. The jumpsuit is now sold out online but you might find one in store (there’s a stock checker on the app and website). I tend to team jumpsuits in a solid colour with accessories in metallic shades; it keeps things simple and generally makes getting ready easier. These silver sandals are quite old now but still among my favourite dressy shoes. They are the comfiest high heels I own (the term “comfortable heels” is generally an oxymoron in my world!). This outfit would be ideal for a summer wedding or garden party…shame I don’t have any to go to!
