Sometimes outfits come about in completely random ways. That’s how it was with this combination. I bought these red jeans a couple of years ago on eBay. They were brand new with tags and cost about £10. But when they arrived…alas, they were too tight. So they’ve been sitting in the wardrobe ever since. The other day I was going through all my old jeans and having a little sort out, when I thought I’d try them on again. To my delight they fit 🙂 So of course I had to wear them right away!
I was trying on different shoes with them to see what worked and what didn’t, when to my surprise I really liked these (super comfortable) mustard/ochre shoes with the red. I then picked out this check jacket (after trying on a few others) but I needed a top to bring it all together. The mustard shoes looked a bit random without something else to mirror them…if only I had a matching top…
A black top looked too heavy, and as the jacket has a small collar I didn’t want to wear a white shirt. I racked my brains for a top to match the shoes, when I remembered the top from the mustard co-ord. It’s not the ideal style because of the cropped length and the full sleeves, but until I find a more suitable alternative it proves that red jeans, check jacket and a hint of mustard can work together! A simple black faux leather bag finished off the look.

This is a nice combination of colors. I envy how well you pull off the tweed blazer. The last time I tried one on, it aged my by at least a decade!
I just love anything tweed. That jacket is fabulous! Hope you are having a great week!
That jacket is wonderful. I love the classic look of it. Combined with those cool jeans it’s a fabulous look.
You have such a great eye for color! I only own blue, black, white, and gray jeans, but I’ve been thinking about an olive green pair as well!

Such a fun outfit with a definite fall vibe. I love the tweed blazer and the mustard heels I think add just the right amount of yellow!

I adore coloured jeans, Emma 🙂 in fact, I wore a mauve (or rose, depending on your viewpoint) to work today, with a burgundy and black top. I am SO enamoured of your blazer and shoes, incidentally (INSERT MAJOR HEART EYE EMOJI RIGHT HERE).
I have kept jeans in my wardrobe that are too small as well Emma! Only I have ended up giving up on them – I kept them for 2 years in hope, then excepted defeat haha. These red ones look great on you! xx
Emma,
I love the mustard with that red-orange jeans! What a great combo! It’s amazing what we can find in our closet to arrange a new outfit, isn’t it? Genius!
Have a great weekend!
xx Darlene
