Festival season is in full swing, and while I won’t be heading to Glastonbury, I did enjoy our town’s Folk and Boat festival. Every year people moor up on the canals for a weekend of music, food and drink. All the pubs have live music, there’s Morris Dancing and performances by local dance groups. We were unable to go last year because we had a party in the Lake District. This year we made the most of it, and thankfully the weather was warm and mostly sunny.
Getting dressed for a festival requires some planning, especially when it’s hot in the day but chilly by night. I definitely needed my orange fringe jacket later in the evening when it was cooler. I wanted to be comfortable but also to dress up a bit; while it may not be like going to a big festival, I still wanted to make the effort! These camo print utility trousers are really comfortable and not too thick; I wear them a lot in summer.
Earlier in the day I had a pair of flat strappy sandals on that rubbed my feet, so when we took Isobel’s bass home after her gig, I quickly changed them for my very old FitFlops. My feet were much happier! Of course, it wouldn’t be a festival outfit without some bling, so I wore my “Sparkle Junkie” necklace with my smaller leopard necklace and giant gold hoop earrings. I jangled every time I moved!
You may be wondering why the link up post is a day late…well, technical problems put my schedule back. None of my photos were displaying in preview mode, and when I looked at published posts, quite a few images were missing from those too. After spending the best part of the day trying to figure it out – backing up, updating plugins and WordPress – I contacted my web host who fixed it pretty quickly. It turns out it was the Jetpack plugin causing a conflict…I have no idea why after all this time! Anyway, my web host deactivated it but it’s still glitchy. Don’t you just hate tech problems!

This is superb and very festival-esqu! My daughter is in Glastonbury and I’m so envious of her. Not that I’d like to camp but I would love to see the groups and singers there, especially Elton John! Thanks for hosting Emma xx

This is the perfect festival look! I adore the fringe on the jacket especially. I will not be attending any festivals because I hate fighting the crowds. Lol! Get me in the vip section and now your are talking!

I hate technical problems, it causes so much stress. But how lucky you are to have such a lovely event in your own town. Looks like you live in a beautiful area. I would love to go to Glastonbury one day. It’s a bit of Woodstock modernised isn’t it? Such amazing artist! What a gorgeous jacket that is!
Love your festival-vibe outfit Emma. It is not my thing but I am sure you had great time. Anna https://lookingfabulousat50.blogspot.com/
