Lovely in Leggings - November Stylish Monday link up

Welcome to the November Stylish Monday link up! I hope you all had a great weekend. We got back from holiday on Friday evening – from beautiful sunshine to rain…typical! And of course the clocks went back while we were away so now it gets dark even earlier. Can I just hibernate and wake up in March?*sigh* Just kidding…only 51 days to Christmas!

These leggings have magical slimming and firming powers, while still being incredibly comfortable

When I saw that this month’s Stylish Monday theme was ‘Lovely in Leggings’ I was in two minds whether to participate; usually the only time I wear leggings is to work out, and then I definitely don’t feel or look lovely! But then I remembered how I styled my Meadowlark yoga leggings for both a casual and a more dressed up look. So as these are the only pair of leggings that I would wear in a non-exercise situation I decided to go for a similar look.

These leggings have magical slimming and firming powers, while still being incredibly comfortable. I wasn’t planning to keep this outfit on but I felt so good in it I wore it to a hospital appointment. (Isobel needed an MRI scan on her hand to check on a little lump). I wore the same boots but a different top this time; I’ve had this tunic jumper for years – my mum bought it for me one Christmas. It’s always felt a bit tight on the arms so it’s stayed unworn in the drawer. When I first put it on for this outfit I almost took it off again but it seemed to stretch after a while.

Some vegan leather can be stiff and crack easily, but Jennifer Hamley bags are every bit as good as cow leather

I’ve added the same owl pendant and oversized sunglasses as before, but I switched my Jennifer Hamley tote bag for the latest addition to my collection: the vegan leather Mischief bag. Jennifer recently held a live Facebook auction to sell off her remaining stock, with proceeds going to charity. I managed to bag (pun intended!) this chain handle bag, plus a vegan leather coin and card holder. Both were fabulous bargains, especially given the RRP. Some vegan leather can be stiff and crack easily, but Jennifer Hamley bags are every bit as good as cow leather. It’s just a shame she won’t be making any more.

Let’s take a look at how my blogger friends are wearing their leggings…

Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style is looking very chic in leopard print and black.

I’m loving the red ankle boots Julie of Fashion Trends and Friends has teamed with her leggings and animal print top.

Nicole of High Latitude Style has opted for a sporty look with a Breton stripe tunic and fabulous fuchsia accents.

Michele of @see_chelestyles is wearing an all black outfit with a fantastic mix of buffalo plaid and snake print accessories.

Chic as always, Nina of Sharing a Journey has combined faux leather leggings with leopard print ankle boots.

And last but not least, Andy of Pearls and Pantsuits is wearing a look similar to mine – printed leggings, long boots and a tunic jumper.

I think leggings have finally won me over! How about you – do you love leggings too? Please do let me know in the comments!

  2. I’m old fashioned when it comes to leggings and don’t think of them as streetwear. All of you ladies have pulled them off fabulously. Anything that has magical slimming properties–count me in! ha!

  5. There’s some great legging looks here. I love the pattern on yours, they look great with the black tunic. I sometimes wear leggings with an oversized sweater. They are very comfortable and easy to wear.

These leggings make quite a statement! I enjoyed seeing some different style ideas for leggings, as I don’t often wear them outside the gym, either.
