Military Jackets and Red Ankle Boots

I hope you’ve all had a great weekend! I spent yesterday afternoon in Manchester at a really fun blogger event with a Caribbean theme (more on that soon!). I’ve had a very lazy day today; the weather has been grey and a bit miserable, so I’m glad we took these photos last weekend.

As I’ve mentioned before, Isobel loves to copy my outfits if she can, so we decided to do another “mummy and me” post. A while ago I bought her some black coated skinny jeans, so that was the original plan. However, she has never liked wearing jeans (so goodness knows why I bought them!). They’re a perfect match for my Frontrow leather-look jeans, but she couldn’t bear to even wear them for the photos because they’re uncomfortable (in other words, not leggings or pyjamas!). So, we had a rethink and opted for glitter jeans for me and glittery velvet leggings for her.

We are ready for Autumn in our military jackets and red ankle boots!

Thankfully, putting together the rest of our outfits was much easier. We are ready for Autumn in our military jackets and red ankle boots! I bought my jacket from Zara when I spent a long weekend in Madrid three years ago. Zara and Mango is generally much cheaper in Spain, although the poor sterling to Euro exchange rate has now put an end to that for us Brits…thanks Brexit πŸ™ But anyway, this jacket is one of my favourites and I’ll be wearing it for years to come. Sadly, Isobel can’t say the same for hers because she will soon grown out of it. That’s why I buy a lot of her clothes second hand. I picked up this little black jacket for a few pounds in a charity shop.

She borrowed the drawstring bag from me, and I found the sunglasses at the back of a drawer; they never did suit me so they’re now hers! My black top is so old – when I told my husband that I bought it in the 90s he said it looked like it! Ok, it is a bit bobbly and a bit too short, but I needed a blank canvas to show off my statement acrylic cat necklace. I bought it from eBay last year but have never worn it until now. It would probably work better on someone with a smaller bust, but if I position it carefully I can just about get away with it. I continued the cat theme with the fun cat ear sunglasses.

Are you a fan of military jackets? Is it Autumnal in your part of the world or are you still in Summer clothes?
