Jacynth Enigma Cashmere Jumper and Faux Leather Jeans

It’s really starting to feel Autumnal now…well most of the time. The days are warm when the sun’s out, but by early evening the temperature drops and I have to put a sweater on. I wore this outfit on Friday for an afternoon of meeting friends and shopping. Actually, I swapped the heels for my Vionic trainers and added a red trenchcoat because it was raining. That was the main reason for wearing a hat, which is much easier than carrying an umbrella AND shopping bags!

Pairing my Jacynth Enigma cashmere jumper and faux leather jeans creates a slightly smarter take on the jeans and jumper combination

I’ve been waiting a while to wear this gorgeous cashmere sweater that Jacynth kindly sent to me as a thank you for modelling for the Bias-Cut.com. Jacynth has recently launched her own range of cashmere, which is “inspired by the contrasting, if not conflicting, natures within every woman”. This sweater is one of her first designs and I’m very excited to be able to show it to you! It is the most beautiful piece of knitwear that I own, and so soft to the skin 🙂

The slouchy fit makes it perfect for wearing with skinny jeans and boots, which is one of my go-to Autumn/Winter outfits. Pairing my Jacynth Enigma cashmere jumper and faux leather jeans creates a slightly smarter take on the jeans and jumper combination. The raspberry trim on the bateau neckline and quirky lip motifs are lovely details. I’ve highlighted these with my berry-hued wide brim hat and crossbody bag.

Getting the proportions right

As the sweater is loose-fitting I added a long pendant to draw the eye down, creating a lengthening effect. Whenever I wear a slouchy top I pair it with a more form-fitting bottom half, otherwise the whole effect can look shapeless. It applies the other way round too: loose trousers or a voluminous skirt looks best with a fitted top. A wide brim hat also balances out an outfit like this; you can see the difference in the photos with and without.

As I mentioned, I wore a red trenchcoat over the jumper, but a cape would look very stylish too. I wish I’d taken some photos with the trainers and trench now! I’m sure you’ll be seeing this outfit again in one form or another over the coming months 😉 I also have another fabulous jumper from the Bias-Cut.com to show you soon!

Do you love being cosy in a jumper and jeans when the weather turns cooler?
