It’s been ages since I last wore this navy and white polka dot dress, which is a shame because it’s a great fit and so comfortable. I wanted to make the most of the early autumn sunshine by wearing a dress and sandals before the cold weather really sets in. (It was cool enough for tights yesterday!)
Previously, I’ve featured this dress on the blog with red accessories, but this time I stuck to a simple navy and white colour palette. I’ve probably worn polka dots more in the last few weeks than I usually would in a year! In fact I wore another dotty dress to work yesterday which will make an appearance here soon. I don’t even know if dots are “on trend” for autumn/winter, but they never really go out of fashion, do they?
I’ve made a mental note to self that I must take this navy and white polka dot dress on my next holiday. It might be just a little bit early to be planning my holiday wardrobe – it’s still six months away. But it doesn’t hurt to be organised, right? I love that this dress is stretchy and just the right thickness to keep me cool without being sheer. Another plus point is that it doesn’t crease, because I really don’t like ironing.
This white bag may also make the holiday wardrobe edit because it’s the perfect size…and the best bit is it’s reversible! You can’t see from the photos but it’s silver on the inside and has a silver pouch too. I love a two-for-the-price-of-one garment for both their value for money and space-saving convenience. A while ago I bought a reversible bomber jacket by Scotch & Soda on eBay and that got me thinking that this is a much underused concept in fashion. You may pay a bit more, but in the long term it’s probably worth it. That said, this bag was about £8, so not at all expensive.
The only jewellery I added was a pair of gold and pearl earrings and this gorgeous crochet and fabric bracelet. It was kindly sent to me by The Vegan Center and matches the dress perfectly. The Vegan Center is an online retailer selling food, clothing, jewellery, beauty products and homeware. Their products have all been verified to be 100% vegan-friendly, which gets a big thumbs up from me! They have some really fun face coverings – if we’re going to have to wear them we might as well do it in style!

Emma, you look stunning in that dress. It’s so flattering on you and the polka dot pattern is a classic. I do adore that you went with a simple palette of blue and white. That choice was “spot on” (LOL).

Love the hemline of that dotty dress. A reversible bag – what a great idea! It’s never too soon to start thinking about the summer holiday wardrobe, in my book. I usually buy a lot of it in January!
I wished we could talk about going on a holiday again! Abroad that is. Polka dots are always so elegant! Something so 50 s about them, love it!
Love your polka dots today! I am sporting mine in today’s post too!

Can you mix it up a bit? I did a search for what to wear with a navy with white polka dot dress and this came up. Lots of pics with the same looks… white on white. Great dress, you look great but I want to see how you would add a pop of color and what shoes you would pick besides white. Belt, no belt? (we’ll maybe not with this dress. LOVE how it ties) Different jewelry, shoes? Purse? Polka dot is like a blank slate to paint on. Nothing wrong with white but it’s kind of like vanilla ice cream with no toppings. Hope that’s not insulting, just want to push you a bit. Give it some “style splash” with color!
Hi Chrissy, thanks for your comment. I have actually worn the dress before with red accessories: https://www.style-splash.com/outfits/roman-originals-navy-spot-dress-style-with-a-smile-link-up/ I think any bright colour would work well though, especially pink and lime green. Hope this helps!
I would have never thought of lime green. That’s cool! Was that a sweater you chose or shoes or both? I was thinking read but feel like I need to be locked into red she’s too balance it. What other color shoes could I pick?
