I hope you’re all staying safe and well. We’ve had such a lot of rain this last week that I may need a kayak if it doesn’t stop soon! I’m glad I got these photos done before the deluge started. This is an outfit I wore to work recently, although I’ve swapped sandals for peep toe shoes and my tote bag for an evening bag. Puff sleeves and faux leather are both very much on trend for this season, so combining the two is a win-win. Even though I don’t let trends dictate what I wear, if I see one (or two) that I like I’m happy to jump on board.
Statement sleeves and faux leather are always on trend in my wardrobe; I love how these sleeves elevate what would otherwise be a plain and fairly boring black top. I don’t often wear head-to-toe black these days unless it’s a dress for going out (and that hasn’t happened for a while!). Pairing this black faux leather puff sleeves and khaki trousers keeps the colour palette neutral while adding a little drama. The trousers are part of a co-ord that I’ve featured before with the unusual half-skirt (see the post here).
The gold lion necklace and ring contrast against the black, which I’ve echoed with the velvet chain handle bag. There’s a trio of felines! You’ve probably seen this bag loads of times before, it’s been one of my best eBay finds. I finished off the outfit with my cat eye sunglasses to continue the feline theme!

I’m partial to anything that gives a little pizzazz to an item of clothing, so I give a big yes to your statement sleeves! The purse is really cute too.

This is such a chic look! I love the statement sleeves and that gorgeous necklace!
I love a good statement sleeve, and it’s really cool that yours are faux leather—that makes them so much easier to wash than real leather! I love your necklace too!

Emma,
Your style sense is spot on with this ensemble. Olive and black are a classic combo and then you switch it up with a touch of faux leather. Brilliant! And, what a lovely surprise to find that a post of mine was one of your favorites from last week’s link up. Thank you for hosting and I hope you have a wonderful week.
