You’ve probably realised by now that orange and green is one of my favourite colour combinations! I loved the orange vintage top and bright green trousers that I wore a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I’d feature another incarnation of this zesty duo.
I previously paired these dark green cords with the gorgeous duck print shirt a few weeks ago. They’ve proved to be very versatile in the short space of time that I’ve owned them. I’ve worn them to work lots, with at least half a dozen different tops. This bright orange pussy bow blouse is probably my favourite though. It contrasts with the dark green trousers for a smart but comfortable look. I just wish these cords were available in different colours because I’d definitely buy more!
When I find a piece of clothing I really love I’ll buy it in multiple colours or patterns if possible. That’s exactly what I did with this Hawes & Curtis blouse. When I bought this blouse I also bought the same style in a paler orange with a different print. I love that this style is fitted but also has some stretch, which is unusual for a satin-type fabric. A few years ago I found three of these blouses in a charity shop for £3.75 each! Obviously I bought them all, and I’ve been a fan of the brand ever since. (You can see two of my bargain blouses here and here – would you believe, I still haven’t worn one of them?) Despite that, I’ve ordered a couple more in the sale – at half price they’re too good to resist!
I can’t quite believe that I don’t own either an orange or dark green coat/jacket. I really must remedy that asap! Well, I do have a pine green trench coat, but the weather’s not mild enough for that yet. Is is too late in the season to buy a new coat? Probably not with the unpredictable British weather!
This warm brown coat works well with just about any colour, but I think it looks best with orange and green. I chose my orange bag to make it the dominant colour, coupled with the blouse. My green and gold earrings and purple stone ring pick out the minor hues in the pattern. The beauty of a shirt like this one is that you can team it with any of the colours in the print. I plan on pairing it with purple and maybe pale pink trousers in the future. I think it would look really stylish with a lilac trouser suit too. I’m already turning my thoughts to spring colours!

Wonderful look. Isn’t it great how shopping at thrift/charity stores can give the opportunity to try pricier brands that we might not normally buy?
