I tend not to wear a lot of neutrals, favouring bright colours instead. Yet, warm browns, tan and burgundy shades are very versatile. Plus, they’re flattering on all skin tones. I find it increasingly hard to wear black, especially in the daytime. It seems to drain the life out of my face, and my mood. Brown on the other hand, has a completely different effect.
When I saw this cardigan in the Marks & Spencer January sale I was ready to add it to my basket immediately. But then I realised that it was sold out in this colour and I was gutted. I searched for a similar one, but none were as stylish and expensive-looking as this one. I think the gold buttons really elevate it. Vinted to the rescue again! I got it for less than the sale price, so it all worked out in the end.
It’s very soft and cosy, but also slightly itchy (I seem to be increasingly sensitive to fabrics lately). But it will be fine with a vest or blouse underneath. I’ve teamed it with dark chocolate trousers and metallic bag to pick out the buttons. Chocolate brown with gold accents is a simple but stylish combination. There are odd occasions when I don’t wear bright colours or bold prints, but I still want to look put together.
I have the matching jacket to these trousers, but I was unsure about keeping it because it’s collarless with shoulder pads. It’s not a style I’d usually go for but they look very stylish on other people. I think I just need to experiment more, maybe try it with jeans to start with. At the moment I feel like an air hostess in it! Any styling tips would be gratefully received!

You suit warm colours, like me. I’ve been enjoying the brown shades even though I’m not usually keen on neutrals x
Thanks Gail! I love brown and tan, but I won’t wear beige!
