It’s the last Monday of February already…and that means it’s time for another Style Not Age challenge. It fell to Jacqui to set this month’s theme and she chose faux leather. At first I thought it would be fairly easy but surprisingly, I don’t have an awful lot of faux leather clothes. My immediate thought was the black shirt I wore for last month’s Thrifty Six faux leather theme or the culottes I featured in August’s Style Not Age post. But on second thoughts, I wanted to try something different. So as the weather was mild I braved it in this puff sleeve top.
Faux leather isn’t the easiest fabric to wear and isn’t always the most comfortable, especially if you’re prone to hot flushes. One way to buy into this trend without compromising on comfort is with faux leather accents, such as this puff sleeve top. Of course, if you really wanted to go for it you could pair it with faux leather leggings for a rock chic look. I’ve chosen a check mini skirt and ankle boots for an outfit that’s appropriate for work on this occasion.
My red vegan leather bag picks out the red in the print of the skirt and adds a hit of colour to the outfit. (I try to avoid wearing black head to toe, especially during the day, because I don’t find it very flattering on me). The gold lion necklace helps to add some warmth near my face too.
SHOP THE LOOK
I’m giving my charity shop bargain boots another outing (also faux leather). I’m looking forward to charity shops reopening more than any other non-essential shops. We should know more later today about the so-called “roadmap” out of lockdown. I think my Easter holiday in the sun is off the cards though…Costa del Cheshire it is for another year!

What a good challenge – you’ve styled it well. I love my culottes and can’t wait to keep wearing them in the Spring. Jacqui x
I’ve never seen a top that had leather sleeves – that is so neat!
Emma, I love everything about this outfit! That skirt is screaming to me and the leather puff sleeves on your top are so fun! Such great booties and handbag, too. Wonderful, wonderful look, my friend!

HI Emma!
I do love faux leather and have a fair amount. The puff sleeves are the perfect touch to your top! I always look for those details myself. Love the mini skirt with the red plaid – this looks great and it is so fun to see other’s faux leather, or pleather as we used to call it!
thanks for linking!
