My collection of knitted and crocheted vests is continuing to grow; this is my latest addition. I found it on eBay for a very reasonable price – £15 plus £3.50 postage. When I first saw it I thought it would be far too small, but it does have a fair amount of stretch. This would have been the perfect outfit for Valentine’s Day with the cute hearts and pink and bright red colourway…one to remember for next year! (Although Pete said I looked like a giant strawberry, so that kind of killed off any potential romance!)
I love to layer crocheted vests over roll neck tops for a retro vibe and I’ve recently bought about half a dozen in different colours and patterns. They’re very affordable and versatile so are really useful items to have in your wardrobe. Often I’ll add a third accent colour to an outfit, but pink and bright red really only need each other. Limiting the outfit to these two colours maximises their impact. The red sock boots also have that flattering leg lengthening effect too.

I don’t have a heart print bag, but this star motif crossbody works just as well. The polymer clay earrings by No Shrinking Violet tie in with both the heart theme and the colourway perfectly. I’m all set to start making my own polymer clay jewellery now and I’m thinking up some bold designs and colour combinations! I’ll keep you posted!
