Well, I started this post in Cheshire and I’m finishing it off in Cambridgeshire. I’ve returned to mum’s after a few days back at home and work. I don’t think I’ve visited so frequently since I lived in Nottingham! Luckily, being freelance I have the freedom to do that.
Anyway, while I was doing some bits and bobs of shopping last week I had to go to a retail park that I’d never been to before. Confession time: while I was in Marks & Spencer I bought this printed co-ord in the sale. After resisting the temptation to buy new clothes for Second Hand September, I was planning on continuing my “no new clothes” approach. But you know how much I love a trouser co-ord, especially in a bright print! (I may also have succumbed to temptation in TKMaxx, but that’s for another post!).
I’ve been wearing M&S trousers almost every day lately; they are so comfortable and can easily be dressed up or down. This printed trouser co-ord, like most of my others, is made from a silky fabric that is really best suited to mild temperatures. Even though we’re heading into winter that didn’t put me off buying it. I’ve worn my other co-ords so much that I know I’ll get plenty of wear from it. The shirt is quite long, so I could wear it open, like a shacket over a T-shirt. The trousers have an elasticated waist with a drawstring, making them an elevated alternative to basic joggers (although I do love those too!).
I’m already thinking about pairing them with a navy sweater or T-shirt. But I think they could be styled with sandals and a vest top for an evening look too. One thing’s for sure: this printed trouser co-ord is going with me on my next holiday! (I hope I don’t have to wait too long for that!)

Ooh, Emma, this is a fabulous co-ord set! I love the colors and the bold print and the fun blue trim and leg stripe on the top and trousers. I bet these two pieces will prove to be qutie versatile! Thanks so much for the feature this week. That was a lovely surprise!

Such a fun set, Emma! Navy would be a great choice for mixing and matching. White would work well too – although if you are like me, you donβt have a lot of white in your wardrobe. I hope your mom is doing okay.

Love your coordinated sets and you wear the bright, vivid prints so well! Your matching accessories are perfect, too. Enjoy your week-hope this one is not as hectic as the last!
I’ve never heard the term Co-ord before, but yes, I like lightweight pants, especially in the fall when the weather is still warm. In fact, I’m wearing them in the post I linked up. Thanks for the party.
Such a fun set! Love the unique prints and bright colors on you!

Thank you very much for the feature. You made my day!
I don’t own any co-ords, but I just realized they’re like wearing a jumpsuit minus the logistical challenges. Genius! Now I want to try one π

Greetings from the other side of the pond :). I’ve learned a new term today–trouser co-ord. I admire people who pull off splashy colors and styles, but tend to feel very uncomfortable in big patterns and bright colors. Your Laura Ashley bag caught my eye–back in the 80s I spent a summer in London and went to every Laura Ashley store. I still have a beautiful wool shawl I picked up in the bargain bin. I bought fabric and patterns and made myself several Laura Ashley dresses (I may have been slightly obsessed π ).
I love the brightly colored print in your outfit. You look stunning in it. Thank you for hosting the link-up.

Great that you have visited your mom, and can do that with freelance work. My mom has been here visiting again, and may move here in the near future since most of us kids are here. I love these co-ords on you. I don’t have any, but always love them when I see them on you. Love the touches of navy with this look! Looking fab!
