Red dress with leopard print accessories

It’s so tempting at this time of year to forget about dresses in favour of sweaters, trousers and boots. Well, until the party season starts, but it’s a little bit early for that just yet (even if the shops are full of Christmas stuff already!). If you have an event to go to that requires an elegant outfit, I don’t think you can go wrong with a red dress at any time of year. A LRD (little red dress) makes a fabulous alternative to black, and this one from Boohoo is a classic style that would be ideal for many occasions.

The high neckline keeps it classy, while the split sleeves show a bit of flesh without baring the upper arms completely.

As reds go, this is the perfect shade for me. I have several red dresses, but this is now my favourite, and at only £20 it’s a bargain. Despite the budget price tag the quality is really good and it fits me like a glove. Boohoo tends to come up small so after checking the size guide I sized up to a 12, which proved to be the right decision. It doesn’t have any zips or fastenings, but the slight stretch in the material makes it easy to get on over my head. The high neckline keeps it classy, while the split sleeves show a bit of flesh without baring the upper arms completely. The fabric isn’t too thick to wear a coat over though, so I can still wear it when the weather turns colder. A cropped faux fur jacket would look great with it.

Red dress with leopard print accessories

A red dress with leopard print accessories is both classic and a little bit sassy.

When it came to choosing accessories there was only really one type that came to mind: leopard print! Are you getting sick of seeing it yet? I don’t think I ever will! We all keep saying it’s a neutral, but it really is. That’s why most of us love it I suppose. It certainly trumps a plain nude for me anyway. A red dress with leopard print accessories is both classic and a little bit sassy. On a more practical level, these shoes have a closed toe and a wooden effect heel so I don’t have to worry about my chipped nail polish or ruining them in the mud!

Snake print would be another option if you’re not keen on leopard print. But if you need a break completely from animal prints then metallics would work well too; my preferred shades would be rose gold or bronze. This dress is available in lots of colours and a few prints too, as well as maternity versions. I really like the chartreuse (very this season), and of course classic black would be a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe.

Do you have a favourite red dress? Which colour would you choose this dress in and what would you wear with it?

  8. Wow. Stunning look on you Emma. The fit of the dress is beautiful and I love the split sleeves. As a fellow redhead, I prefer a LRD, over an LBD. Love the neckline and the touches of leopard, one of my favorite colors with leopard print.
