For Friday’s post I shared three outfits for a Spring wedding, which I’d put together because I had a family wedding on Saturday. I was still deliberating which one to pick right up until the last minute, but in the end I chose the red lace dress and velvet jacket. Red is my confident colour (I got married in a red dress) so that’s what ultimately swung it. I was very tempted by the jumpsuit but I’ll save that for my holiday. It’s probably just as well I didn’t wear it as I ended up with a pint of coke down my leg at the reception! Bare legs are easier to wipe clean!
Speaking of legs, I probably should have applied some fake tan. It’s been a long winter and my pins haven’t seen daylight since September! The lack of fake tan was due to my indecision…there would have been no point slapping it on if I’d worn the jumpsuit. So much for planning ahead. Although it was a chilly day we weren’t stood around for long. When we weren’t needed for photos we stood by the radiators inside the church! The velvet jacket (a charity shop bargain) kept the chills at bay. I wish now I’d got a photo of the dress without it though!
I’ve been waiting a while to wear these shoes. I actually bought them for the wedding I went to in June but didn’t end up wearing them. As such, they were untested, and while not exactly comfortable, they were fine for the amount of time I was on my feet. My velvet cat bag was plenty big enough to hold all of my essentials, with room to spare. It was a lovely day but I woke up on Sunday with a raging sore throat and a cold. I’m looking forward to getting away to warmer climes next week 🙂

Oh wow! Stunning, my friend! Red looks so smashing on you. That dress is beautiful. And of course, I am crushing on your velvet blazer and sparkly shoes. I have a few velvet blazers and every one of them was purchased from a charity shop!

Like you, red is my color and I agree with that quote about red too. I have yet to find the perfect red lace dress but I love yours. I too own a ton of red dresses though and this week on Thursday Moda I will be sharing a special one I wore to an event this early Spring, too. You look gorgeous head to toe — so classic, elegant, modern and feminine. Love those sparkly cream shoes, too!
I also love all the featured looks this week, Emma!
P.S. I know you love my poetry so there is a brand-new one on the blog, right now. =)
You look gorgeous, Emma, I too got married in a red dress so I am most definitely in the pro-red-for-confidence camp!!!
p/s I adore Elsie!!
