Yellow Belted Midi Dress With Green Accessories + link up

Yellow Belted Midi Dress With Green Accessories

Last week I opened a suitcase containing my Summer clothes and found this yellow belted midi dress that I hadn’t got around to wearing. I bought it from the Marks & Spencer outlet near to where I work last year towards the end of the Summer. However, it failed to make the holiday wardrobe edit when I went to Madeira. So, I put it away ready for Summer 2020. As we’ve had some glorious weather for April I thought there was no time like the present!

There wasn’t a size 10 so I had to get a 12. Consequently, the dress is a bit loose on the shoulders. The wide, deep v neck at the front and back exacerbates that, which is a bit annoying. I don’t like to keep fiddling and readjusting clothing. On the plus side though it has pockets! We all love dresses and skirts with pockets don’t we?

For a fun, Springtime colour combination, I teamed the yellow belted midi dress with green accessories

The funny thing is, I’d opened the suitcase to look for my lilac trousers (seen in this post with a green blouse). I was planning on wearing them for this post but I can’t find them anywhere. Isn’t it frustrating when you can’t find the one item of clothing you really want? But at least I rediscovered this dress, so that was a bonus. For a fun, Springtime colour combination, I teamed the yellow belted midi dress with green accessories. It was inspired by the green dress with yellow accessories from two years ago – I found that dress in my Summer stash too! It’s a similar outfit, just with the colours inverted.

SHOP THE LOOK

I picked up the velvet bag in a shop in the Lowry Outlet (where I also bought the dress) reduced to just £10. Being able to idly browse shops and snag bargains on a whim seems like such a luxury now. The shoes are from TKMaxx and were only £15. I’d been looking for some non-leather bright green shoes for ages so these were a great find. The other bargain in this outfit is the Quay sunglasses which cost a mere £2 from a charity shop. I’m so looking forward to being able to rummage in charity shops again!

What do you miss most about the current situation? Are you shopping less or buying online instead now?

  1. Hi Emma!
I love this shade of yellow! A soft buttery yellow. Looks so pretty with your hair and is a favorite of mine for Spring and Summer. The green heels are another touch of Spring! I do hate when I can’t find something, but I did a lot of closet cleaning the last 2 years, so less of that.
    Have a great day

Such a cheerful summery colour and lovely with green. I didn’t buy much the first 3 months of the year but making up for it now – although trying not to get stuff I might have to send back, so only using trusted retailers whose sizing is reliable!

Oh, this is so lovely Emma. Especially with the green shoes. I was just thinking I needed green sandals…haha.
If you’re interested, you might be able to take up the shoulder seams so you don’t have to fiddle with it? (or have it done for you)

I have been shopping online for many years and there are stores and brands that I know will fit. But I do miss the occasional trip to the mall to check things out in person! Oh, well. I love yellow with this shade of green! That is the perfect summer outfit, Emma!

  15. Yellow is so pretty on you! And I don’t find that the shoulders look off at all in this size you chose! It actually makes it look more flowy (and like we say in French…décontracté) Beautiful – and I love that little green bag!

  16. This is such a beautiful color combination! I love the vibrant green with the bright yellow!
