Rose Pink and Powder Blue + Style With a Smile Link Up

The sunny weather continues and I think I can safely pack my jumpers away. (Famous last words!) I love wearing pastel shades at this time of year and I finally got these trousers taken up after years of being stored away. I don’t know why it took me so long, but I found a fantastic local seamstress I have no excuse to leave the “alteration pile” lingering any longer!

This rose pink and powder blue outfit is so easy to wear, and comfortable too

Now these trousers are the right length to wear with trainers, so I will be getting lots of use from them. I’ve got a nice little collection of colourful Adidas shoes. Most are from Vinted, some new and some lightly worn. I’ve sold a lot of my heels because I know I won’t wear them again – in fact, some I never wore at all! I’m on a mission to get rid of the things that don’t serve me anymore and only have things that I love. This rose pink and powder blue outfit is so easy to wear, and comfortable too. Adding the striped bag and big sunglasses elevates it just enough, without being impractical.

Life lately

This week has been a bit up and down. I hurt my back on Monday exercising (I mistimed a kettlebell swing and something went “pop”) so that’s been frustrating. I’ve been having some pain issues generally for a while and I don’t know why. My blood tests came back ok, apart from slightly low platelets, which seems to be usual for me, going by previous tests. It’s been difficult to sit up, which is why I’m a day late with this post. Today is a big improvement on yesterday, so fingers crossed it’s going in the right direction.

My bunion operation has been postponed without explanation. It was scheduled for August 8th, to fit in with a quieter time at work. I was offered August 22nd but I’m going to Edinburgh on the 21st to see AC/DC so that was a no-go. At the moment, it’s rescheduled for September. However, I may have to postpone it until just before Christmas when work is quieter. It’s frustrating because I’d planned a lot around the original date, but at least it means I won’t be on crutches at the concert.

Some good news

One good thing is that my car finally got repaired after someone ran into it last October while it was parked. I had to turn detective to track the driver down and get the police to help me out, but persistence paid off! Now I have a shiny new rear bumper and a repainted front one. I did enjoy driving the courtesy car though (the joys of working air con!) and I was a bit sad to give it back. That said, it beeped if I went 1mph over the speed limit, so I won’t miss that! Always look for the positives!

How’s your week been so far? Is it sunny where you are?

Love this sweet, pastel color combination on you for spring! Your accessories are so perfect for the outfit, and I really like that little heart shaped rainbow colors bag. A good seamstress for alterations is worth her weight in gold, so glad you have found one! Hope your back is feeling better soon and you have a good rest of the week and weekend. Thanks for hosting the link up and also for mentioning me as a favorite this week.

What a bummer about the surgery. But good news on the car. And who wants a car that makes noise when we speed anyway. Lovely colour combo! Fabulous top!

Oh, I hope you’re soon feeling much better. My knee still gives me bother when I bend it too much after twisting it on my flight to Ireland last summer. I really love this pink and blue outfit, Emma! It’s so springy! We have had very rainy weather, but it’s now turned quite warm – 31C and humid which makes it even worse. We had several lovely days of being much cooler with no humidity. That’s how I like my summers. Thanks for the link up!

That’s a bummer you hurt your back and your surgery got rescheduled. I know when I had my hip replacement surgery I too picked a time of year that I knew would work best for my lifestyle. I think it’s awesome you tracked down the driver who hit your car. Good for you! Love your blue sweater! Thanks for the party.

  10. How frustrating you had to do so much detective work to get your car repaired through no fault of your own! Glad it worked out in the end though. Sorry about the surgery postponement as well. Hope you start feeling better soon!

  12. Hi Emma
Been so busy with the puppy I am now getting around to posts. I love this soft look, fabulous trousers and detail on the top Its always good to find a great alterations place. I am sorry to hear about the pain you are having. Do you think it is muscle pain? Perhaps you can see a physiatrist? They are docs that deal with muscle issues. Health issues are no fun! Excited that you are seeing AC/DC, we are going to a Metallica concert at the end of May.
    Have a great weekend!

Thanks Jess, I think it may be a pinched nerve. It seems to be getting better, I just need to be careful not to aggravate it. Isobel is desperate to see Metallica, I bet it’ll be an incredible concert!
