Style Not Age Frill Seekers

October 29, 2018

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The end of October means Halloween, the clocks going back an hour (boo to the long dark evenings) and another Style Not Age collaboration 🙂 This month Jacqui has chosen “Frill Seekers” as the theme (good choice Jacqui!). I actually had a couple of outfits in mind for this theme, but went with this one as I had to shoot the photos during a break from work. I’ve been wearing trainers a lot lately as my poor bunions have been quite painful due to running more regularly again.

I’ve found wearing trainers incredibly liberating; I can walk wherever I want to without worrying about my feet killing me by the day’s end.

The upside is it’s never been more acceptable to wear trainers for work as it is now. We constantly see street style photos of fashionistas in pretty maxi dresses and trainers (or sneakers, depending on which side of the pond you live). I’ve found wearing trainers incredibly liberating; I can walk wherever I want to without worrying about my feet killing me by the day’s end. Hurrah for that! So I chose these knitted sock trainers to wear with my skinny waxed jeans and red frill blouse. I bought the blouse back in the Summer from & Other Stories when I was working in Leeds. It was reduced by 70%, so too good to pass by. I had to size up to a 14 though as the 12 pulled across the chest. Having to go with a bigger size means it’s loose around the waist, so I knotted it (one of my favourite tricks with shirts).

The embroidery on the jacket includes snippets of other colours and adds a professional element to an otherwise casual outfit. I love pairing a smart blazer with jeans, it’s a classic combination that will take you just about anywhere.

SHOP THE LOOK

Now let’s what my frill-seeking fashionista friends chose for this month’s theme…

Anna has also opted for a frilly shirt and jeans, topped off with a funky waistcoat. See all the details on her blog Anna’s Island Style.

Jacqui is looking fabulous in a red dress from M&S and Lotus boots. See all the details over at Mummabstylish.

Hilda is looking very chilled out in a chic jumper from Coast and stunning striped trousers. You can see more at Over the Hilda.

So that’s it for another month…only two left this year! I hope you’ve enjoyed this month’s theme as much as we have 🙂

As I said in my post Emma, I could wear that entire outfit, it’s fabulous. But oh goodness, where are the details for those red trainers? Did I miss it? I’ve got black ones like this, but could certainly rock a pair of red ones too.

    Have a super week!
