Before Covid, this time of year would be an exciting time in the fashion industry. The September fashion shows are an opportunity for influencers and celebrities to be seen in all their finery while watching the new collections. I have to confess that I’m much more interested in the street style photos than what the models are wearing! I’ve never been to a fashion week, but now it’s possible to watch some of the shows online so we can all get a piece of the action. For August’s Style Not Age, Gail chose the theme of “What I’d Wear on the Frow”, so I had the perfect opportunity to pretend I was rubbing shoulders with Anna Wintour!
Anything goes at fashion week – particularly in London – so I could let my imagination run riot. I toyed with bold colours, faux fur, frills and ruffles; I also considered a classic LBD and pearls with an elegant top handle bag. But I wanted to put together an outfit that I genuinely would wear to a fashion show; a mix of elegant and modern with a little bit of an edge. Even though it’s only pretend, I feel ready for the Frow in these faux leather culottes and leopard print shirt. When I bought the faux leather culottes in the sales I did wonder if I’d actually wear them – my husband made lots of lederhosen jokes, which didn’t exactly boost my confidence!
In reality, I think I’ll probably wear these culottes more in Winter with long boots, or maybe tights and ankle boots. They’re really comfortable, and have the added bonus of being wipe clean. Come to think of it, I haven’t checked the washing instructions! Leopard print and black is a classic combination, so I chose not to add any bright colours. The studded bag and funky sunglasses give the outfit that touch of quirkiness that we all love about fashion week!

Hilda knows how to rock a hat. I’m loving this laid back, elegant outfit. You can see more of this look at Over the Hilda.
Jacqui of MummabStylish has opted for a very stylish jacket, trousers and oversized shirt combination. The white trainers give it a cool, casual vibe…as well as being very practical for pounding the pavements!
Anna has combined some fabulous gingham dungarees with a classic lace top. The hot pink bag contrasts perfectly with the black and white outfit. Head over to Anna’s Island Style for all the details.

Love this look, you’ve worked your magic with accessories with that gorgeous bag, ring and the sunglasses! Tres chic and nothing like lederhosen!
What a fabulous look! I’m loving your culottes. Sometimes are husbands can be our biggest supporters, other times…

Absolutely stunning, Emma! There’s a line in the Van Morrison song Wild Nights “All the girls walk by, dressed up for each other.” So much truth in that line, I think. So don’t let your husband’s lederhosen comment have too much sway. I know all the girls will love this outfit.

I love this post! I think you all did so well. The only photo missing is you all sitting together in that front row. LOve the Culottes too, even the Sanna ones look good xx
I love this idea Emma, and the way you have styled your outfit with those gorgeous accessories. The leopard goes perfectly with the leather, finished off with the cool clutch. Everyone looks fabulous in the pics and so full of drama as you would expect on the FROW. Love Gails pics – very fashionista worthy! I didn’t know we could watch on-line, I’d definintely be interested.
