Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. My dad has been to stay with us, which was lovely. We had a delicious meal out on Sunday at a local pub. It’s hard to believe it’s almost September! I wish we could have summer all over again. Anyway, we have to look for the positives don’t we? Now that the weather is cooling down I thought it would be a good time to try styling our statement sleeves for August’s Style Not Age theme.
I spotted this pink sheer sleeve top in River Island a couple of months ago. Although I hadn’t intended buying anything for myself, this top caught my eye and I had to try it on. Whilst in the changing room I noticed that it had a couple of marks on it – probably from falling on the floor. There were no others in my size so the sales assistant knocked it down to £5. For that price I thought it was worth taking a chance. Thankfully the marks came out in the wash. Unlike some sheer sleeve tops, this one is really soft so it’s very comfortable.
You’ve seen these trousers before when I paired them with a pink jacket. I opted for the same colour combination again this time, but I plan on trying purple, blue and green tops with them too. I ordered the neon pink sandals to take to Spain but they didn’t arrive in time. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have had room in the case for them anyway. If we manage to get away to Barbados during October half term I’ll take them with me then. I’m already thinking of sandy beaches and rum punches at sunset. Fingers crossed Covid doesn’t scupper that holiday too!
