It’s been a white since I wore a black, white and red combination. I put this outfit together rather hastily but I’m really pleased with how it turned out. Nothing here is new – I’ve featured everything in this outfit on the blog before, but not all together until now. The culottes are a few years old now and I’ve previously worn them with: a red blouse, rainbow sweater, lobster print top, crocheted vest, cobalt top and cheetah print top. I have a lot of clothes, but I like to make them work hard by finding different ways of styling them!
I’ve also featured this polka dot blouse with pink trousers before. Whether it’s stripes, spots or check, I like to pair black and white with a warm colour for contrast. The gingham mules stick to the colour palette while adding in a little bit of print mixing to the outfit too. I usually find backless shoes difficult to wear because they flap around and fall off my feet, but these aren’t too bad. I wouldn’t want to walk far in them, but they’re fine for work and going to the shops. (These green ones from Asos are a similar style and I’m very tempted!) The glass ring, which I bought in Sorrento years ago, matches this black and white spot blouse perfectly!
SHOP THE LOOK
Just for a fun touch, I chose my red heart sunglasses that I picked up in a vintage shop in Nottingham a few years ago. With the weather turning cooler I added my Pom Amsterdam bugs jacket as an extra layer. (It has also made several appearances on the blog). It’s not cold, but it’s been very overcast which makes it feel cooler somehow. Give it a couple of weeks and we’ll probably need the heating on!
