Happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend. It’s the last Monday of the month, so time for another Style Not Age challenge. Anna chose the theme of Summer Whites, which totally pushed me out of my colourful comfort zone. It isn’t feeling very summery at the moment, with grey skies and rain – a typical Bank Holiday weekend in the UK really! I managed to hastily snap these photos during a break in the showers.
Unsurprisingly, I don’t own a lot of white clothing – a couple of shirts, a pair of trousers that my mum gave me (which I wore for this challenge) and this lace dress. Those are the only things that come to mind, but I may have a few more that I’ve forgotten about. I’ve had this dress for eight years, according to my archives. It’s from a collaboration I did with PrettyLittleThing on wedding guest dresses. Even then, it wasn’t my usual style of dress, but I loved the fit of it. I still like this dress, despite my preference for wearing bright colours now. I’m not sure what occasion would call for this dress, but I will keep hold of it…just in case it arises.
I’ve really raided the archives for this outfit as my shoes and bag are quite old too. I can’t wear these shoes for anything other than sitting or posing for photos now, but it’s always good to have a pair of neutral heels. My clutch bag was a Christmas present from Pete, probably ten years ago. I keep it stored away in a wardrobe and it’s a case of out of sight, out of mind. I wish I had a better system for storing things (and a better memory!).

It’s a lovely dress! You could get married in a dress like that I think. I don’t own much white clothes either. That’s because I tend to get stains in everything, and on white you see them even more.
Thank you Nicole. Yes, I agree, it’s so easy to spill something on white!
You look beautiful!

Thank you Jennifer!
Gosh, it’s so weird seeing you in so little colour, Emma! But you still look fabulous! I can’t imagine wearing this dress as a wedding guest though, unless the bride was in black of course lol!
Hope all is well with you.
Hugs
Suzy xx
Thank you Suzy! When Isobel saw me she asked if I was getting married!
You are just stunning in this white lace confection! I don’t think there’s a color you can’t wear!

Thanks Marsha! I’m always worried about getting white clothing stained but I’m surprised how much I like this dress!
Thanks so much, everyone! I’m glad you like the dress—even if white can be a little risky with stains! It’s fun to try something different, and your kind words definitely make me feel more confident rocking this look. Hugs to you all!
What a fab challenge this month, I love all the white outfits. You look super as always. Looking forward to the next one. Jacqui x
