As much as I love bright colours, monochrome will always be a firm favourite of mine. The simple pairing of black and white can be timeless and classic: a plain white shirt, black trousers and elegant court shoes is such a stylish combination, especially when worn with a pop of red lipstick.
Monochrome also offers the chance to be playful with prints. I’ve had this Wallis zebra print dress a while now and always feel good in it. I’ve featured it in a previous post with neutral accessories. This time I’ve kept the outfit completely monochrome with black and white accessories for maximum impact.
I picked up the zebra ring in the River Island sale for £3! I love it, it’s such a fun addition to the outfit. I rarely wear my Lancaster watch as it’s so big and I’m scared of catching it on something but I’ve vowed to use it more often – it’s too nice to sit in the box. A pair of red suede court shoes would look great with the dress but this time I chose these leather and suede shoes by Jaeger to keep the colour palette simple. They’re actually a very pale grey, but they appear white until you look very closely. Despite the very high heel, they’re surprisingly comfortable. I mean, I wouldn’t want to walk any distance or run for a bus in them, but they’re more comfortable than they look.
