How’s your week going so far? We heard tentative plans for the easing of lockdown restrictions yesterday, so there is something to look forward to. Only another six weeks until I can get my hair cut! I imagine hairdressers’ phones will be ringing off the hook! I’m certainly looking forward to lighter evenings and being able to meet friends in the park. This last week has been a tough one for various reasons…you know when everything just seems to go tits up? Yes, it’s been one of those weeks. The one good thing to come from it is I’ve now got a super fast refurbished laptop after mine finally died. It had had some hammer over the years! Having the time to use it is another issue however; work is still really busy and I’m basically running on caffeine.
Anyway, onto today’s outfit. In last week’s link up post I wore an orange pussy bow blouse from Hawes & Curtis, and mentioned that I’d since ordered three more in the sale. Well, they emailed me to say two of them had sold out but I could choose alternatives from the full price range if I wanted. In the end, I chose another one from the sale but this one was full price. I thought it was a very generous gesture and I’m really pleased with my order; when I find a brand I love I’ll repeat buy from them because you know what you’re getting.
The print mixing in this blouse instantly caught my eye – I love the navy and bright pink striped bow and cuffs in contrast with the main pattern. I’ve paired it with navy trousers for a classic look, although I’m thinking of other ways to style it – maybe with bright pink trousers or flared jeans and a navy jacket. For footwear I chose navy velvet sock boots, which to be honest, are not very comfortable. I’m in the process of adding more low block heel ankle boots to my already large collection. My feet just can’t cope with high heels, particularly thin ones. I was due to have a pre-surgery consultation about my bunions, but that’s another thing kicked into the long grass thanks to Covid.
We hastily shot these photos in my lunch break, just as Pete was finishing his early shift – that’s one advantage of working together, even if we do have to take separate cars. It was so windy – it’s almost always windy around MediaCityUK, but more so than usual today. I’m glad I remembered my hat or I’d have had a face full of hair! Time to book that hair cut!

Thank you Lovely xx
What a gorgeous coat! And the beautiful printed blouse goes so well with it. Our rules were softened a bit last night. We still can have only 1 visitor a day, and can not go out after 9pm. But we can go to the hairdresser!!
Thanks Nancy. My dad has a curfew too in France and the gendarmes are very strict about it. They fine anyone out after 6pm, but hairdressers are open…it seems bonkers! But then we have not done so well here in the UK thanks to our useless government.
Another wonderful outfit, Emma! Love the fuchsia coat with the black slacks. And the print matching with top and scarf is fabulous!

I hope this week is better for you Emma. I’m envious of your photo along the Thames. I can’t wait to get back into the city. I love the vibrant shirt. xx
Thanks Laurie! The stretch of water is the Manchester-Liverpool ship canal at Salford Quays – I would love a trip to London though! Hopefully not too long before we have days out again!
Emma, what a fabulous coat and blouse! I do love pink and navy together, too. And the print mix on your blouse is really fun. Although the wind is clear from your photos, they are still really great photos! I didn’t know that you and Pete worked together! That must make some things super convenient for you! Thanks for hosting the link party, my friend!

Thanks so much Shelbee! It used to be convenient when me and Pete were on the same shift and had granny to hold the fort, now we’re like ships that pass in the night! Luckily he will still take some quick snaps at the end of his early shift for me 🙂
Love your coat and your boots! Thank you for hosting this link up!

If I saw that blouse in the shops, I would probably think of you! It looks fabulous, and I love the colours.
We’re still in lockdown here in Portugal and at the moment, I don’t think we’ve got any date to come out of it. I hope it’s not too long though!
Hugs
Suzy xx
Thanks Suzy! I hope things improve in Portugal soon – I guess it’s the links to Brazil that make things difficult. Fingers crossed it won’t be long now xxx
What a fun, cheerful outfit.
Thanks Amy!
I love the colour of your coat!!

Pink and navy is a beautiful color combo and the patterns in that blouse are stunning! Of course, it really stands out with your pink coat and navy pieces! Love it all! Don’t you love taking photos in the wind? You’ll see mine today with my hair all blown back! Lol! the trials and tribulations of blogging, right?
xx Darlene
I really like the magenta and navy together – that coat is a stunner and so nice with the neutral navy! Your printed blouse is fun too with the mixed prints and again that great pink and blue colours scheme! I hope your hairdressers open soon – ours never closed here so I have no excuse for letting the kids hair get so long, haha!
Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup!
Hope you’re having a good weekend 🙂 It’s a relaxing and quiet one here.
