All In Blue + Style With a Smile Link Up

May 2, 2023

How’s your week going so far? We had a Bank Holiday yesterday here in the UK – the first of three this month. (Although Bank Holidays are fairly irrelevant when you work freelance!) I was at my mum’s all last week, making a start on going through the house ready to sell it. It’s incredible what you accumulate over fifty years! Me and my brother tackled the cupboard over the stairs that nobody has emptied for decades…I’m sure we breathed in far more dust than is healthy! There’s still so much to sift through but we made a start. Unsurprisingly, it really agitated my recurrent back problem so I’m paying for it now. Doing some old jigsaws and looking through games with my brother was fun though!

I drove back to Cheshire on Saturday night for work on Sunday morning. Pete was working on the same programme so we car shared and took these photos in the piazza at MediaCity. It gave me the opportunity to wear my new Vivaia shoes for the first time. I received them at the same time as the pink mules (featured in this post). The stretchy knit is perfect for people with bunions because they don’t constrict the feet or rub the skin. These shoes have a chunky heel that’s just the right height for me.

I decided to dress all in blue, mixing different shades and textures

It was quite chilly on Sunday so I layered a vintage denim waistcoat over my shirt from Salamander Shirts (first seen here). I decided to dress all in blue, mixing different shades and textures. The trousers and coat are both from Marks & Spencer – I have these trousers in two other colours. These are a short length but I like the cropped style because they’re great for when I want to show off my shoes (I also like to wear my white ankle boots with them for a retro look). The print of the bag breaks up the blue and adds a fun touch to the outfit. It’s a great size for fitting all my work stuff in too.

Do you like to dress in tonal outfits or do you prefer contrasting pieces?

I’m sure you hear it all the time, but you are simply stunning in blue! I rarely dress all in color because I don’t think to do it. I should give it a try for sure. Thank you so much for the feature. It’s still so much fun to see myself on someone else’s blog! And, thank you for the link party this week!

Beautiful in blue! I would not have thought to add denim to a dressier outfit, but it works much better than I ever anticipated. Very fun outfit! Cleaning out a house filled with 50 years of stuff is difficult. I helped do that with my grandparents’ house. I’m sorry you riled up your back.
