Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you’ve had a lovely day, whether you celebrate it or not. We didn’t make any plans as we’re busy getting everything ready for Isobel’s ski trip on Friday. It has been a whirlwind few days since I drove back from mum’s on Friday afternoon. You may have seen on my Instagram that I spent Saturday in Birmingham at an event with the fabulous Lou Featherstone – aka Luinluland. I’ve met Lou before at the Soul Sisters launch in Cardiff in July 2021, but this was on another level!
There were several sessions throughout the day, starting with us all being given a £50 shopping voucher and 45 minutes to buy something. A load of us headed straight to Zara because that’s always a good bet, and I found a fabulous green blazer for £49.99 on the sale rail. (I’ll feature it here soon). After that we all dressed up in items from Lou’s amazing wardrobe (I opted for a metallic green kaftan from Fumbalina’s and some statement sunglasses) and had a little fashion show. Later on there was a silent disco when we all danced around the Bullring shopping centre…much to the amusement of onlookers! I’ll dedicate a separate post to the day when I’ve got the photos off my phone.
Anyway, onto to today’s outfit (which was actually photographed last week). You may remember my past posts featuring Grenouille shirts. I have a number of these gorgeous shirts, which are such great quality. It’s impossible to pick a favourite, but this cartoon dog print shirt is probably the most fun.
The shirt is a relaxed fit with a 3% elastane soft cotton fabric, so it’s really comfortable. The shirt has a relaxed fit, no darts, but very slightly shaped for a feminine look. I really love the anti-gape button design, which is especially beneficial if you have a fuller bust.
I previously wore this shirt with these Mint Velvet leggings and a faux fur gilet. I’d like to say I planned the red jacket for Valentine’s Day but actually it’s a fluke. (I’m really not very romantic!) I bought this Zara jacket when I was in Madeira, where prices are cheaper than in the UK. You can’t go wrong with a good quality blazer and Zara is always great value for money.
The jacket and necklace pick up on the red in the contrast fabric on the placket and cuffs. The dainty hearts and bones are so cute! I’m wearing my fabulous Vivaia boots which are incredibly comfortable. I haven’t used my Jennifer Hamley Mini KT bag for ages. It’s such a shame that Jennifer closed the business, but I’m glad I bought several bags while I had the chance. Buying good quality pieces is always a wise wardrobe investment.

Emma, looking fabulous as ever in this B&W ensemble. The dog pattern on your shirt is so fun and pairing it with a red blazer was a smart choice. I’m looking forward to hearing more about your weekend.

The warm red tweed blazer is fabulous with your red hair! I am a big dog lover, so the dog print shirt is especially adorable to me. Plus the red, white and black color combination is one of my favorites. Thanks so much for the favorite’s mention. Enjoy your week, and thanks for sharing this inspiring outfit!
Such a cute shirt and I really like the styling. The buttoned up to the collar shirt + statement necklace looks terrific.

Sounds like a unique event and would love to see the photos! What a fabulous blazer and such a lovely blouse, very cute.
I love your red blazer—I feel like Duchess Kate (or is she Princess now?!) wore a similar one from Zara that I was obsessed with, and of course it sold out!

How fun! With the black and white base, I could see this being used all year long simply by changing up the blazer color.
Thanks Alexandra! That’s the beauty with black and white – you can pair it with just about any colour.
Love, love, love that jacket – guess what I have one very similar! Thanks for sharing with us. Jacqui
