Apologies for being a day late with the weekly link up – I’ve been at my mum’s and visiting her in hospital twice a day so I’ve had very little time for blogging. The good news is she seems to be improving and will hopefully be home in time for her birthday next week. Optimistically, I took the tripod and camera with me and managed to quickly take these photos before heading back to Cheshire yesterday. This casual red and black outfit is really comfortable but still feels put together. The Soul Sisters T-shirt is one of my absolute favourites, a regular go-to piece.
These trousers are elasticated at the back so they are great for for days when I’m sitting a lot. The big pockets are a bonus too. Instead of a jacket, I added this snuggly cardigan that I found in a charity shop a couple of weeks ago. It was only £4! Second Hand September is almost over but I’m in no hurry to hit the shops again…well, only charity shops. In place of the quilted metallic bag that I’ve been regularly using (the one I bought with my Instagram win vouchers) I borrowed this red one of my mum’s. I remembered it was stored on top of her wardrobe and thought it gave the outfit a smarter look. (I also borrowed it for this post five years ago).
I’m usually in trainers (sneakers) these days but I hadn’t worn my Stan Smiths for ages. My gold Guess trainers would have probably looked better with the gold print on the T-shirt, but I didn’t take them with me. Gold jewellery and black round lens sunglasses finished off this super comfy casual red and black outfit.

Glad to hear that your mother is doing better. It’s understandable that life’s other obligation come before blogging. This is a great look and I think your white trainers were a smart choice.
