Hello, how are you all doing? I hope you had a great weekend! To be honest, the weekends aren’t really any different from weekdays for me. Although I did work a couple of days last week so that meant that I was entitled to a cheeky glass of red on Friday evening 😉 There’s no dress code where I work but under normal circumstances I do dress up a bit (that means trousers instead of jeans). This is my take on a casual outfit for work – dark denim to retain a semblance of smartness!
This tomato red jumper is one of two that I bought from the-Bias-Cut.com a few months ago. I wore the other one on the blog a couple of weeks ago with my Matthew Williamson green blazer. They’re really useful additions to my wardrobe and feel lovely to wear. The lurex stripe edging on the cuffs and neckline are eye-catching details. I often like to add a third colour to an outfit, but navy and bright red make more of an impact without one.
I’d checked the weather forecast when I got up and it wasn’t looking like a very warm day. With only a high of 13c I decided to dig out my navy duffle coat. It’s quite thick and heavy – as it turned out much too thick. It was surprisingly warm in the sun, so I swapped it for a navy belted jacket (seen in this post) at the last minute. The only other time I’ve worn this duffle coat on the blog was also with red – including the same bag. In fact, I’ve hardly worn it at all, and I remembered why – the collar is really annoying!
I’ve been enjoying rediscovering old clothes (even those with annoying collars). Not being able to browse the shops has made me think more about what I’ve already got. That’s something that’s long overdue!

I wanted to share with you a website I’ve been featured on; The Nines showcases celebrities and recreates their outfits with budget alternatives. I’ve got to admit, I was wondering why they wanted to put me alongside Eva Longoria and Emma Roberts, but here I am! You can search for celebrities in alphabetical order, or outfits by style or designer. I wore the floral print dress and faux fur scarf for February’s Style Not Age post. It turned out to be one of my favourite outfits…comprised of old, second-hand and homemade pieces!

I love this color combination. I sometimes add white (as it is my favorite ever), but it is powerful enough without it.

I love navy and red together and I love the way you’ve done it, Emma! That coat is beautiful but I do understand about having that one thing that just drives you crazy about something you’d love to love. I can kind of sort of recreate this outfit from my closet and it’s being filed away in my head for when it gets cooler again (because I think here in Texas we’ve just crossed that hump to pretty warm for the rest of the year). Mine would be burgundy and navy, but I still think it would pull off the look. Your sunglasses are so fun! I’ve never seen any quite like them. Thank you so much for the linkup!
