I hope your week got off to a great start! Having to get up early for the school run is taking some getting used to, and it’s only going to get harder as we approach Winter. I keep watching A Place in the Sun and wishing I could escape to somewhere warm…preferably on a permanent basis! Madeira or Barbados would be my top choices. We have booked to go back to Barbados next Easter but that feels like a long way away. In theory we could go to Madeira in October half term, which would be lovely. However, with Covid cases starting to rise here in the UK it might be wise to wait until next year for a holiday.
I’ve packed a lot of my Summer clothes away because I don’t think we’ll get any more really warm weather. It was getting hard to find anything amongst the piles of clothes! I have a ten-day stint at work coming up where I’ll be in the office, so I needed to get organised. Some pieces are just too nice to pack away yet though. I wanted to wear this pink one shoulder corsage top before it gets too cold because it’s too pretty to wait until next Spring!
At first, I’d planned to wear it with pink trousers for a sugary sweet outfit. However, the trousers are one pair of many that need taking up (why do they make trousers so long?) and I didn’t want them dragging on the wet grass. If only I had some basic sewing skills! So my next thought was to contrast the pretty top with my camo print trousers for an edgier look.
These utility style trousers are great for this time of year because they’re not too thick. They have quite a silky feel which makes them really comfortable (I also have them in beige, seen here and here). I love the versatility of this style of trousers because you can dress them up like I have here, or wear them with a T-shirt and trainers for a casual look.
The pink kitten heel mules lengthen the legs and counteract the shortening effect of the elasticated cuffs. I added a fun pink clutch (which can also be worn as a crossbody or bumbag) and rose quartz jewellery. The flower-embellished sunglasses compliment the large corsage on the top and add an extra fun touch to the outfit. They’re the pink version of the sunglasses I wore in last week’s link up post…it’s not just clothes I buy in multiple colours!

This is such a fun way to style camo pants! That light pink is so lovely and I love the sweet flower detail! You look gorgeous!
Thank you Andrea xxx
Emma, this is such a brilliant combination! What a fun top and it creates such a great balance with the camo pants. Although I do think this top would be crazy adorable with pink pants for that sugary confection you have referenced!

Thanks so much Shelbee!
This is such a fun outfit! The camo is an interesting juxtaposition with the really feminine top. As for whether I am still my summer clothes – overwhelmingly yes! We won’t have fall weather until mid-October to November. We are still over 100F (38C).

Emma, I love the contrast of the feminine with the masculine. That top is SO adorable. We are looking for trips for next year, too, but it does seem so far away! Let’s hope next year at this time is very different.
xx Darlene
Thanks Darlene! Oh I do hope we’ll be able to travel freely next year, I don’t think I can cope with another year of no holidays!
Oh Thanks So Much!!! I had so much fun styling this up- and am so happy you enjoyed it! As for styling- how cute is this top with camo pants!! Two contradictions that make for a perfect pair- love it!!!
This look reminds me of the blush-and-army-green combo that Balenciaga did back in the early 2000s! I am still wearing summer clothes (we’re having record-breaking heat), but am eagerly looking forward to fall too.

I came across your blog from a link from Jess’s blog (EDS) and have just finished reading all your posts. I live close to you (Greater Manchester) and it was fun reading about the places you visited etc as I often go there myself. I love all of your outfits and it has inspired me to be more bold with my wardrobe choices. Look forward to future posts and your Vlog
Lisa
Thanks so much Lisa! It’s lovely to connect with someone from the same area 🙂 I moved to the North West seven years ago and love living here. I’m so happy that I’ve inspired you to try bolder outfits!
Wow! This is such an interesting combo and I love it!
I happen to love millennial pink or light baby pink with olive and camouflage. Your one-shoulder bustier is stunning as are the glasses and slides. You look gorgeous as always. Is it getting chilly there yet?! Good luck to your daughter on the new school year, what grade is she in?!
P.S. Emailed you the details of our wedding collaboration last night. So glad you are a part of this! You looked GREAT!
