There’s been a distinct nip in the air since October arrived, which means it’s time to bring out the faux fur! I deliberately left it out of my Key Trends For Your Autumn Wardrobe Update because it’s one of those A/W perennials. I have a few faux fur coats, but when I found this French Connection short sleeved jacket on sale I had to have it. The soft blue/grey shade is very flattering to most skin tones and pairs well with lots of other colours.
This jacket could be worn a multitude of ways: with jeans, a pair of smart trousers, a maxi skirt, but I chose an old and much-loved skirt from Karen Millen. Faux fur can add inches, and because this jacket has a loose fit I decided to keep the rest of my outfit streamlined. As grey is the dominant colour in this outfit I accessorised my faux fur with silver sparkles by adding my glitter sunglasses and ankle boots.
I bought the silver glitter shades recently from River Island. They were already reduced from £18 to £7, but I had a 20% discount code so I scored them for the bargain price of £5.60! The boots were a January sales purchase, but I haven’t worn them until now. Maybe that’s because I overdosed on sparkles by also buying the black glitter ankle boots I wore in this post around the same time. These silver ones are way more comfortable. I’ll be wearing them lots over the winter.
My little blog helper was making me laugh in the photo above! She took the close up of the sunglasses below – you can see her reflection in the lenses!
The blue grey of the faux fur jacket pairs really well with my new crossbody bag. I bought it in a clearance sale at Brand Alley, along with the grey bag I featured in this post. It’s a really useful size, big enough to accomodate all my essentials, and the strap is nice and thick. For work I’d switch to a bigger bag, but for a day out sightseeing/shopping it’s perfect.
