I hope you all had a great weekend and managed to escape the horrible weather! I got back from my mum’s last night and drove to work this morning in torrential rain, yuk! Anyway, it’s the last Monday of the month which means another Style Not Age collaboration! I’m delighted to say that Gail of Is This Mutton is joining us…the more the merrier!
It fell to Hilda to set the February Style Not Age theme…which is Flower Power! There are certainly signs of Spring on the ground, even if the sky has other ideas. I’ve been noticing snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils emerging which is always a joy to see.
Floral prints work all year round, particularly those with a darker base colour. I bought this dress a couple of years ago and wore it when we stayed at the amazing Titanic Hotel in Liverpool. If you’re unsure about mixing patterns, having a dress that does it for you is a great style hack. Two completely different patterns can work together if they share a colour palette.
Whereas the last time I wore this dress it was with bare legs and strappy sandals, on this occasion I needed to make it weather-appropriate. Thick tights and chunky boots were a must (the garden is still water-logged so no stilettos!), while the faux fur scarf kept my neck warm. The hat added a bit of a boho vibe as well as keeping the drizzle off my hair. My cute velvet cat bag that I use so much finished off the look.

Anna has also chosen blues with a gorgeous dress and cobalt tights. I love the addition of the white boots! You can see more at Anna’s Island Style.

What a gorgeous outfit! I love floral prints and have several black based ones – both vintage and new – in my wardrobe. This one’s very unusual, with its instant pattern mixing. The pink faux fur scarf is a lovely touch. And as a owner (or should that be servant :-)) of a black cat, your cute cat bag is also meeting my full approval! xxx
I love this mish mash of patterns on your dress. The fur wrap is uber cute too! This challenge seemed to be great fun for all of us. xxx
