Happy Friday! Are you all ready for the weekend? It’s feeling rather autumnal now, in fact the weather has turned cooler since we shot these photos. But just like today, it was very windy! Actually, it’s always windy at MediaCity – I think it must be the way the buildings are situated. So when it is generally windy it blows a gale there – I’ve almost been blown over before!
I was trying to hold on to the last bit of Summer with this outfit. Usually, I think of wearing this coat in Spring, but I hadn’t worn it at all this year so it was now or never (for this year anyway). It’s coat length, but made of scuba fabric (a type of double knit made from polyester and spandex, with a very fine gauge thread, and smooth texture). I first featured it on the blog three and half years ago, teamed with jeans and a blush pink sweater. I’ve stuck to a similar colour palette here, but chosen darker hues of pink and blue. Pairing the floral print longline jacket and navy trousers creates a smart, office-appropriate look, without looking too formal.
The pink top is very lightweight – the fabric is sheer and shows my bra from the back, which I’m not keen on. At least the overlapping layers solve that problem on the front! As it was still quite warm, I chose a pair of pale blue faux suede open-toe mules. I finished off the outfit with some subtle blue jewellery and pink sunglasses.
