Do you remember almost a year ago I featured some fabulous shirts from a company called Salamander Shirts? I styled the button print, cat print and duck print shirts, which I love and always prompt a few compliments when I wear them. Well, I was absolutely delighted when Alex and Vicky (the lovely husband and wife team behind Salamander Shirts) asked me to model the latest collection! This gorgeous horse print shirt is the first of 12 that I’m going to be featuring here on the blog (there are so many exquisite prints, I can’t wait!)
You really can’t go wrong with a classic shirt and jeans combination. I loved this outfit so much that I wore it two days in a row – first to see Isobel’s drama group perform in Chester, and then to work the following day. I had been hoping to get some nice photos in Chester, but unfortunately the weather was terrible – sideways rain and freezing cold – but luckily that cleared overnight. As me and Pete were working together the next day on a regional politics programme we took the opportunity to take these photos in the MediaCityUK plaza. To compliment this Grenouille horse print shirt I teamed it with a classic coat and accessories in shades of brown. As it was still quite chilly, I layered a vest underneath the shirt and it kept me perfectly warm.
The Grenouille brand was first launched in the late 1990s by Vicky and her parents, with Alex joining the team later. They then founded Salamander Shirts and the two brands are part of the same company, with Vicky and Alex taking over after Vicky’s parents retired. You can read more about the company here.
As with all Grenouille shirts, the quality is fantastic and the lovely details make this shirt a thing of beauty. The contrast piping and inner cuffs and placket really elevate the design. The fabric is premium stretch cotton (3% elastane), making it very comfortable. The anti-gape button design is particularly useful if you have a fuller bust. The shirt has a relaxed fit with no darts, but is very slightly shaped for a feminine look.

Nice to see something a little different Emma. The coat looks great on too xx
I think you wear as often jeans as I do. I can’t remember seeing you wearing it. But it does look good, especially with such a beautiful blouse.
You look very smart, Emma! I love the details on the shirt, like the non-gaping buttons and the piping.

What a fabulous shirt, Emma! I just went browsing through their animal and bug print shirts and they are all so much fun! I love that you will be sharing 12 new shirts with us from this brand. How fun! I really like this casual denim look on you. Denim is perfect with the horse print. And your overcoat is beautiful!

What a neat shirt! I really like that it’s not colored in, but just showcasing all the details. Such a fun outfit you’ve put together with it!
Great look. It’s hard to beat the winning combination of a button-down in a fun print with jeans. I’m looking forward to see the other patterns as well and what other styling ideas you have.

That shirt is so fun! You always have the most unique pieces. I went to the rodeo a few weeks ago and that shirt would’ve been perfect for it.

I love shirts with a fun print! And the anti gaping feature sounds excellent- there are several shirts I don’t wear because of the gaping problem x
Love the style of the shirt with the horses and the piping. Looks made very well. Your soft browns are perfect with it! I love this coat too, what a lovely color. Congratulations on the modeling gig! I meant to tell you that on FB 🙂 Do they have any dog prints 😉
