Orange and Turquoise + Style With a Smile Link Up

Turquoise is traditionally seen as a spring/summer hue, but rather surprisingly, it’s one of the standout colours for autumn and winter. It has certainly been popping up on my Instagram feed on a regular basis lately. It’s not a colour I gravitate towards often, but I do love to see it contrasted with red. (Blue and red featured heavily at Copenhagen fashion week last month.)

For a playful twist on that pairing, I’ve combined orange and turquoise. The only new piece in this outfit is the top. I have a turquoise suit, but the only top I had in that colour was old and faded. In fact, I think it went in the charity shop bag. So, I ordered this one from Asos when I bought the blue striped jeans. I should have taken my jacket off so you could see it in more detail. But it’s a pretty basic design, slightly cropped with loose short sleeves. It’s a jersey stretch fabric, so very comfortable.

While I’m not convinced it’s one of my best colours, I do like it as a secondary shade to a warmer hue. My bag was actually my mum’s. We both bought one at the same time (I chose pink). I think she only used it once and eventually gave it to me. It matches the top perfectly, as does the bracelet that I recently rediscovered hidden away.
