What a week…another heatwave and a partial solar eclipse! The heat is going to peak tomorrow at around 34c, but thankfully the temperature will drop by 10 degrees on Friday. That will be a welcome relief. The eclipse was a little bit underwhelming in my part of the world. In fact, so was the last total eclipse in 1999 when it was cloudy and I was rushing to catch a flight! I’m tempted to make a trip to see one abroad – there’s one in Luxor next August with totality lasting over six minutes! That would be magical. (And probably very hot too!)
It was pleasantly warm on my recent trip to France where we shot these photos. You may remember seeing this Popsy pink animal print jumpsuit before because I featured only a few weeks ago. It’s such a joy to wear that I had to take it with me to France. It’s colourful, comfortable and doesn’t need ironing – that’s exactly what I want when I’m packing for a holiday. I managed to pack quite sensibly (for me), only bringing back one dress and a couple of vest and shorts sets unworn. The part of Brittany where my dad and step mum live is very rural and everyone dresses quite casually. Having been quite a few times now, I know what I’m likely to wear, which helps.
We shot these photos in the ruins of the old chapel at the end of my dad’s field. Back in 2017 we took photos of this outfit in the same location. It’s a bit more overgrown now. This was outf first trip since 2018 because a lot of the direct flights stopped during Covid and it became very difficult to get there. It has taken a while for things to get going again.
Yesterday I experienced a peculiar and frustrating technical problem when I couldn’t upload images to the blog. They appeared to be uploading, but then it said the image alt attribute was empty. I did all the usual things – logged out of WordPress and back in, cleared the cache, tried a different browser, but to no avail. I started an online chat with my webhost, who are always brilliant. After escalating it several times it was fixed in just over an hour. They’d advised me to try a different theme, deactivate some plugins, and delete .tmp files (which they did for me because I’m useless with that kind of thing). It turns out that I wasn’t the only client having these problems, although they did inform me that my storage was getting low, so they helped with that. Sometimes I think it would be a good idea to recruit someone to do all this stuff for me! But not any of the many people who fill my spam inbox with offers to get me on the first page of Google! Do you get those emails too?

You just look so vibrant in this jumpsuit, Emma! And, I love the background! Covid definitely changed many things. I haven’t had that problem with WordPress…yet! I wish I could pay someone to do those things for my blog, too. But, I’m a one woman show. Thanks so much for the feature and the link up, I invite you to join me every Tuesday and Thursday for link parties!

This jumpsuit is so fun Emma! Glad you got things figured out with WordPress. I struggle a lot with it too. Thanks for the link up!
