Last week turned out to be unexpectedly busy, and conesequently I didn’t get chance to post at all. I was offered work at short notice (the name of the game when you’re freelance) and Pete was poorly. Trying to fit in training for a marathon on top of that meant I had no time for blogging! The good thing is the weather has improved and the days are becoming longer. The extra daylight means fitting in photo shoots gets easier for a few months!
I was intending to post an entirely different outfit, but on a whim I decided to try on these burnt orange cropped trousers which I bought from Dorothy Perkins several years ago. I bought them because they looked nice on the hanger. However, they didn’t live up to expectations when I got them home. Consequently, they’ve been in the “reserve wardrobe” in the spare room ever since. Anyway, I decided it was time to give them another chance.
I tried on a couple of striped tops which looked ok. I also tried a burnt orange leopard print blouse that I quite liked, but as it was the same colour as the trousers it lacked contrast. Then I remembered I had this Reiss silk blouse that I bought on eBay last year. Its pale background colour stands out against the trousers while the print compliments them. My necklace, which was a Christmas gift from my mum, mirrors the dark blue circles in the blouse.
Reiss do some really beautiful silk blouses, and you can pick them up quite cheaply on eBay – I have three so far. I’m quite happy that most of the outfit is new but not new, if that makes sense; I’m wearing the Reiss silk blouse and Dorothy Perkins burnt orange trouser for the first time, even though they’ve been in the wardrobe a while.
I also bought the Biba bag on eBay. I’d been watching it intently for days but the reserve wasn’t met when the auction ended. As the seller lived not too far away from me I emailed with an offer and the deal was done! As it was brand new with tags and I bought it for around a third of the RRP I was pretty chuffed!

I’ve actually never purchased clothing on ebay, but maybe I should! Stunning blouse!
Thanks Laura! I love Ebay, although I’ve had to limit myself recently due to lack of wardrobe space!

The sunburst large dots on that blouse are so pretty as are its colors. The pretty blouse matches those pretty rust pants and I just love your pumps, Emma.

Oh, my Goodness! I Love everything about this look, Emma! That top is just perfect and the colors are fab. Your burnt orange pants compliment it wonderfully and I really like the leopard accents. Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday!
All of these pieces go so well together! And I can certainly appreciate life getting in the way of blogging. Good luck with your marathon training!

Thank you Carylee!
Love this whole look; the color of the pants is gorgeous! I too have a “reserve wardrobe” in my attic. As a matter of fact the blazer I’ll be wearing in tomorrows post was recently unearthed in the reserve wardrobe…lol.
