The sailor hat trend has been everywhere this summer, so I had to dive in and try it out. And where better to buy a sailor hat than at a French seaside market? I found this one, along with others in various patterns and solid colours at Plouha market on my recent trip. (I also bought the lobster trousers on the same day.) It’s not often that hats actually fit me (I must have a big head!) so I was tempted to buy several. However, I managed to restrain myself and choose just one. I’m a big fan of stripes, especially pink and green, so that influenced my decision.
I tried a few different pairs of jeans with the hat and pink top but settled on this indigo barrel leg style. The sailor hat and striped jeans work together to create a nautical look, while the pink adds a fun element. Loafers would be more in keeping with the sailor vibe, but I decided to wear my Vivaia pink pointed flat mules to match my top. I had a look on the website but I think Vivaia have discontinued this style, which is a shame because they’re so stylish and comfortable. I completed the look with my cute strawberry bag,
It’s been a busy start to the week! The fridge freezer died on Sunday night/Monday morning, so we had to quickly buy a new one. Luckily, we have a small one in the garage so we didn’t have to throw everything away. Although, it did force me to have an audit! Isobel started driving lessons and did really well. I’ve been going through stuff at mum’s bungalow and getting stuck into the gardening…it’s like a jungle! I’m organising a gardener to do all the big stuff because otherwise I’d never get on top of it.
Exciting news…I’m taking part in an Instagram live tomorrow evening with Vanita Badlani, founder of LaBante London. I’ve featured my red Kensington bag on the blog many times (most recently in May).
