Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great time celebrating/relaxing, however you chose to spend NYE. We spent the evening with friends while the teenagers jammed and did a couple of songs for us. The late night caught up with me though and I was exhausted on New Year’s Day!
This is the outfit I wore for NYE. I wanted to be warm and comfortable as we walked there and back (it’s less than a mile each way). I still wanted to wear something sparkly though. Luckily I bought these silver sequin trousers in the River Island sale just before Christmas. (I was really tempted to buy these black ones too.) They have an elasticated waistband so they easily accommodate any festive indulgences! To my delight, the sequins aren’t in the slightest bit scratchy. Plus, the trousers have a shorts lining, making them even more comfortable.
For extra sparkle I wore my silver glitter trainers – sensible given the cold and wet weather. The only downside was that the trousers kept sticking to the glitter in a velcro-like effect. I’d love to wear them with my silver sandals, which I may do in the summer. There’s no way I’m waiting until next winter to wear them again! I was thinking of wearing either my green or red frilly blouses, but I stumbled upon this pink top and felt good in it, so I kept it on. That guided me to this furry coat which I always love to wear.
The novelty silver bag added a fun touch to the outfit and I didn’t lose anything out of it this time! (All is explained in this post from a few years ago.) This combination of sequins and faux fur proved to be the perfect outfit for a relaxed NYE with good friends.
