After yesterday’s all black look, normal service is resumed today! This outfit is a bit of a nostalgia trip really because I’m wearing items I bought ten or more years ago! The boots and sunglasses are probably 12 or 13 years old, and the dress and trench coat a decade old.
The tie dye autumnal shades make this dress ideal for this time of year. It’s a thin, slinky material but has a double layer, so I don’t feel too exposed in it. I have worn it in summer with nude heels, but I prefer the extra layer that tights provide to smooth out any lumps and bumps! Although it’s no longer available, I have found one in a black and purple colourway on Poshmark. I was intending to wear this dress for last month’s Stylish Monday collaboration, but chose a skirt at the last minute instead.
This brown trench coat is great for throwing on over just about any outfit. It has lovely big pockets which is always a plus for me. I’ve added my orange bag to match with the top of the dress, although cream would look great too. For a more dressed down look I could layer a long cardigan over the dress; I’ve seen some lovely ones in the shops but I’m trying not to buy more clothes!

What a fantastic colors! Love your bag too. Sorry to hear about your back, how the trip goes well and that you have a lovely time at your moms.
Love the Fall colors! You don’t often see autumn colors for tie dye, looks great on you! The rusching is very flattering too! The orange structured bag is perfect with this look too! I am mostly shopping my closet this Fall, with a few new additions from the sales.
I am like that too, I will wear black one day and then I have to wear color 🙂
Don’t these colours work well this season, love that delicious bag too. Hope your back is on the mend soon. Jacqui x
I thought I had seen the dress before! Why not though. It’s really lovely on you Emma. I hope your back recovers swiftly xx
I love this outfit, Emma! And it’s a good example of something in which you excel – working with three colors and getting it just right. I struggle working with two – unless, I wear a colorful dress and sandals. And then most of the work is done for me. LOL!

Emma, this dress is so fantastic! I love the tie dye in autumn colors. I have been wanting to style my tie dye maxi dress with a sweater to transition it into fall. I need to give that a try soon! I hope that your back is feeling better soon!
