Velvet and Snake Print + Style With a Smile Link Up

November 24, 2020
Velvet and Snake Print, brown velvet blazer, Red Herring snake print top, Zara camel fedora

I’ve got a bit of a seventies vibe going on with today’s outfit; it’s definitely intentional as I seem to have caught the retro bug lately. I’ve just ordered a gorgeous trouser suit that’s very loud, possibly bordering on obnoxious. I can only imagine the comments my mum will make, but the heart wants what the heart wants! In the meantime, while waiting for my parcel of retro fabulousness, I’m making the most of what I already own. Pairing velvet and snake print seemed like a good place to start!

The velvet and snake print create a retro feel, especially with the slightly flared jeans and fedora

The velvet jacket I wore in last week’s link up post prompted me to pull another one of my charity shop bargains out of the wardrobe. In all honesty, the thing I’m most looking forward to when lockdown restrictions are lifted is pottering around charity shops again…I’m not bothered about pubs and restaurants in the slightest!

This jacket only cost me a few pounds but it’s really good quality. Initially I was planning to wear a tie-neck blouse with it but this high neck top works better. The velvet and snake print create a retro feel, especially with the slightly flared jeans and fedora. It’s a look that’s still very much in style today though. The snake print bag and lace up shoes add to that seventies vibe. All I need now is to master that Farrah Fawcett hair flick!

Velvet feels so soft doesn’t it. But I never wear it. Strange…. But it’s a gorgeous blazer, warm color. And I’m looking very much forward to seeing your suit! I also look forward to shop in second hand stores, in the UK that is, but I do miss eating out!

I love velvet, it is one of my favorite fabric! This color suites you so well, and I like how those top and jacket compliment each other. A pair of jeans makes your outfit look more casual which gives you more options to wear it in daily life. I love this look very much!
