We’re in that awkward phase where it’s not cool enough for sweaters but summer clothes no longer feel appropriate. One easy way to create a transeasonal outfit is to wear light fabrics in autumnal shades. Even though the summer heatwaves seem like a distant memory now, it’s still actually quite warm for the time of year. I’ve seen bermuda shorts hailed as a hero transeasonal piece and it’s easy to see why: they look polished with a variety of outfit combinations while keeping you cool.
I’ve previously featured these shorts with a red utility shirt and FitFlops, they’re so versatile and easy to dress up or style casually. On this occasion, I’ve paired them with a new leaf print blouse from Izabel*. The fabric is beautifully soft and light, much like the floral print dresses I featured in April and July. This transeasonal outfit in autumnal shades offers the best of both worlds, with warm hues and light fabrics.
One summer trend I was a bit hesitant about was the straw sailor hat. But after buying the pink striped hat at a French market, I had my eye on this neutral one at H&M. I missed the boat when it went on sale, but found it on Vinted for £4! I’d already ordered one from Reserved, but it looked like I was wearing an upturned basket on my head! This has a brim so it suits me much better (and it’s a fraction of the price!).
Confession time: I would have worn chunky sandals with this outfit…but I hadn’t painted my toenails. So, I chose these old leopard print court shoes instead. Not the most comfortable footwear, but the neutral shades match the hat and shorts. For an injection of bright colour, I added my Ollie & Nic bag. It works so well with this transeasonal outfit, matching the orange in the blouse print, It’s now half price at only £32!
