I realised that I hadn’t worn leopard print for ages – I don’t know why because it’s one of my favourite prints. Now things are opening up again and we can go out to bars and restaurants it seemed like a good time to try a dressy look. This shirt dress is great for both going out or wearing more casually thanks to the muted colourway. (You can see how I previously styled it for colder weather here). However, I had the perfect excuse to elevate this leopard print dress with a set of fabulous button covers from Goodnight Irene. Some might think blinged up leopard print is a bit over the top, but not me…I’m all for adding sparkle to an outfit!
I love stylish add-ons that can transform an outfit (I have shoe clips too that I’ve featured here and here). These button covers are really easy to use, they simply flip open at the back and you slide them onto the button and snap them shut. You won’t ruin your manicure doing it either, which is always a bonus! I think buttons make a huge difference to the overall look of a garment. These covers are brilliant for elevating your outfit without the commitment or hassle of replacing the existing buttons. I took my cue from them when choosing my jewellery, adding some chandelier earrings (hidden by my hair) and a cocktail ring. My sunglasses match the dress quite well – I bought them from TKMaxx for our holiday in Turkey but I haven’t worn them much since. I’d forgotten how much I like them!
I needed to add a little bit of colour to my outfit, and of course it had to be orange! My matching bag and nails provide the colour hit to finish off the outfit. My nail polish is actually neon although you can’t really tell from the photos. It’s by Revolution and is really good value for money at only £4. I’ve got the neon green shade too – they’re perfect for summer!

Never heard of button covers! But what a good idea, I can see some of my jackets could use that. Shoe clips are also something I never tried, but sounds like a fun thing to do. The dress is gorgeous, I also love a leopard print.
Real Hollywood glamour, you always look fabulous in leopard print!
Such a great look!
Thanks Amy!
This is such a great dress and the button covers are a brilliant way to change it up a bit! I love that you added in bits of bright orange to accent the muted leopard print. Fabulous styling, Emma!

Thanks Jess! I’m the same – I tend to favour bright colours and prints in summer. I was long overdue a leopard print outfit!
Thanks for featuring me and my upcycled maxi dress. You made my day. Also thanks for hosting the party every week. Your leopard dress is a reall star. You really should wear it more often. It’s so posh casual. Elegant without being over the top. A great find and keeper.
Thanks so much Nicole! You’re very welcome, your dress is fabulous!
I am always a fan of a leopard dress, and this one fits you perfectly! The button covers add such a nice touch of glam, too!
I hope you are having a great week so far!
