My obsession with trouser suits continues…they are my go-to work outfit and the hardest working clothes in my wardrobe. While I’m usually drawn to bold patterns, this green trouser suit has a subtle check print. It means I can wear a statement print top underneath instead. The suit was on sale at Asos at a price too good to resist! I’ve been wearing a lot of green lately (last week’s link up post featured my new green embellished jacket).
When I started putting this outfit together I had no idea what I was going to wear with the suit. A quick scan of the shelf where I keep my turtleneck tops led me to this fun mushroom print. The green in it is darker than the suit but I think the contrast works well. I’ve picked out the red and pinks by adding a burgundy hat and bag.
I prefer to keep my footwear neutral when there are different patterns and colours going on (unless I have a good match for one of the principal shades). My old snake print lace up shoes always help create a 70s vibe, along with a wide brim hat and retro sunglasses. Autumn is peak 70s style season for me…I love the rich reds, oranges and browns that are prevalent at this time of year. (I’m not keen on the weather though!)

What a deliciously fun suit! It reminds me of Granny Smith apples, probably because you mentioned the mushrooms in your turtleneck! You always have the best accessories, and this is no different! Thanks so much for the link up, Emma!
