We’ve been enjoying some unseasonably mild weather lately, which means it’s not yet time to reach for the big coats. It seems strange that I’m still in short sleeves and having the house windows open. It’ll probably change abruptly so I’ll enjoy it while I can. Anyway, it gives me the opportunity to wear this orange puff sleeve top before it gets too cold. I bought it in late summer (at the same time as the bargain £5 pink top) but haven’t worn it until now.
Orange and green is one of my favourite colour combinations, so pairing the top with these wide leg trousers seemed like an obvious choice. I have to admit that the top is a little scratchy, as is often the case with sheer fabric. Hand washing it and using fabric conditioner made it a bit softer, but it’s not the best quality material. For my footwear I chose ankle boots because although the weather is mild, it’s also damp, so the garden is a bit muddy. The velvet quilted bag compliments the darker green boots and adds a little autumnal richness to the otherwise zesty colour palette. (Yesterday’s post was all about velvet).
In non-outfit related news, I’ve finally shaken off Covid and feel back to normal now. I ran 5k yesterday and to my surprise, I hadn’t lost any fitness, despite doing no exercise for two weeks. (I was dreading it because I thought it would be torture!) We’ve rebooked the Barbados holiday for next Easter – two years after we originally booked to go! Let’s hope it’s fourth time lucky!
