Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! It’s hard to believe that we’re halfway through the year already. The first Monday of the month means it’s time for July’s Stylish Monday link up, and the theme is graphic tees. A few years ago I owned hardly any, but now I’ve got at least a dozen in a multitude of colours.
I bought this pink one from River Island last year but this is the first time I’ve worn it. It ticks multiple boxes for me – the bright colour, the stripes, the appliqué, and of course the message in French: “une vie libre”, meaning “a free life” in English.
Boxy t-shirts can be unflattering on me, especially when they end at the hips, so I like to knot them to create a better shape. I could have paired the T-shirt with trousers or a skirt in any of the colours in the stripes. Or for a more casual look I could have opted for jeans. But instead I decided to pick out the blue appliqué heart as my contrasting colour. These trousers are also from River Island (I previously featured them with a mustard ribbed sweater last Autumn). Teaming the pink graphic tee and blue frill trousers with matching shoes and bag creates a fun, smart-casual look. The stripes add just enough extra colour to break up the blocks of pink and blue.
Nothing in this outfit is new; the shoes and bag are years old. I also have this bag in a lighter pink and lime green. When I like something I often buy it in multiple colours – like the earrings I’m wearing, which I also bought in orange and green. I did see these frill trousers in green and they were on sale, but since seeing how badly River Island rates on the Good On You app, I decided to stop shopping there. The sad irony is that the person who made the T-shirt probably doesn’t enjoy “une vie libre”. And that’s why I’m making a big effort to shop more consciously now. After all, if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. Now that message would make a great graphic tee!

I am a big fan of knotting tee shirts, too! It adds just the right amount of sass! And these colors together are so great. Super cute outfit!

Such a lovely outfit! What a great theme right!
I love, love, love this outfit! I’m always a fan of graphic t-shirts–the heart “medallion” on yours is amazing. The shade of pink of your shoes/ handbag is the perfect addition. Now *I* need pink shoes and a handbag–ha!
Great color combination! I love the bright pink and all of the accents! Your ring and those earrings. I do the same and will buy things in more than one color, clothes included. You look lovely!

Great quote Emma ‘if you’re not part of the solution you’re part of the problem!’

Looking fabulous as always, Emma! Boxy t-shirts don’t look that great on me either so I will have to try your tip!
